What's more, once while in the middle of a movie, the sound muted by itself (the remote was on the stand) for no reason at all. The mute icon just popped up on the screen and stayed that way until I adjusted the volume with the remote. Not an encouraging sign.

I didn't have a Samsung account yet, so I went ahead and got that going. The authentication text messages seemed to have quite a bit of lag, but once the account was authorized it was pretty simple to to get the TV setup with my cell phone and the SmartThings app.

In general, I liked the interface. It was simple, easy to navigate, and nice and snappy. No lag whatsoever. I did notice some ads for service like HBO Max but this doesn't really bother me since the vast majority of our TV use is through a 4K Apple TV

An Honest Review

 Since we had it set up with what we needed it was easier just to keep it running. BTW roku remote will control on/off and volume and mute of this tv. Unless we need to change underlying tv settings we don't us the nifty cool solar cell remote, :D The tv does have a higher power usb port which allows the roku to be powered by tv, no wall wart needed. Spectrum app, allowed us to save $8 a month in cable fees, since i could return rented cable box

 Sound is fine, especially if you have on stand with a hard surface underneath. The speakers down fire so if hung on wall bet they would be extremely tinny. I have it set to film maker mode for all, works fine. Colors are bright and no evidence of banding

Only 4k 32" I could find

 Final conclusion was to call Amazon. I did. Many times. All reps tried their best to resolve our problem

 I wish it wouldn't try to get "smart" and detect anything, or prompt me about agreeing to terms for services I'll never use, or change inputs when something new is plugged in. Just be a normal "dumb" TV that does what I say, when I say it, and not a second before or after.

The TV is cluttered with useless and invasive "features" that do not appear to be well-thought. These things do not improve my life at all, and just get in the way.  1) The remote control is poorly designed. I have two of these TVs in one room

 It thinks everything is a PC.  I wish this TV just showed the output from whatever I plug in, and left it at that. I wish the remote just had buttons for "HDMI 1", "2" and "3". I wish it had a normal replaceable battery instead of the stupid photovoltaic charger

I never know when I turn the set on whether I can watch it or do I have to spend the next 15-minutes waiting for the poorly written software to scan the Motorola cable box for the fourth time today and still not find it.  Samsung wants this to be more computer than television and that's where my disconnect with them is because I own a computer and wanted to buy a display

Failing to do that Samsung takes you away to the Internet hiding your cable box. Terrible out-of-the-box experience.

 Smart things should work with Nest Cameras pretty seemlessly. However it often will kick you out of the app or will be very slow to load. I do feel this is probably a software issue with smart things. I was hoping it would do things like pop up to tell me someone was ringing the doorbell but no such luck

 After 2 weeks I can say I am pretty happy with it and glad I upgraded. I did knock one star off for the issues with the remote. I almost returned it thiniking there was something wrong with the TV. But I am going to keep it
