Investing in a Sebo canister if you don’t know what your “forever home” will be?

There's nothing really better than a power nozzle canister (like the SEBO K3) for being able to tackle a variety of surfaces. You probably wouldn't end up using the ET-1 powerhead as much if you moved someplace with hard floors and area rugs, but the SEBO K3's still gonna be a top tier vacuum when equipped with a hard floor nozzle. If it's not included in the box, I'd highly recommend getting the Premium Parquet head. Best hard floor tool on the market IMO

Quality

Our Shark Vertex is broken (I think it's the bearings in the roller) and I will not spend $100 to replace a head that will likely do the same thing in another year. I will be purchasing a Miele or Sebo from a local vacuum/sewing store.

Best money you've spent in the last year

My SEBO K3 vacuum cleaner. I've been using a crappy Kenmore canister for over 20 years that had poor suction and leaked dust into the air. The room would smell and my allergies would flare up each time I vacuumed. With this fine piece of German engineering, the HEPA filters contain all of the dust, leaving my house dust-free and smell-free

Great suction but poor debris cup design

This vacuum sucks up everything!! Even cords you're trying to vacuum around. But once you know it's fine, it just takes a little extra work to pick them up before destroying them. The battery life is very good. On the 2nd setting it easily lasts well over 30 minutes of hard floor and carpet vacuuming

Suction not as good as I had hoped

Suction not as good as I had hoped. Though it is really quiet compared to conventional vacuums. Returned item in hopes to find something with better suction that fills the bag.

Ease Of Use

Extremely good for cleaning homes with pets

The dust bin is simple to remove and clean out and no vacuum bag is needed. This vacuum is definitely doing a great job of keeping my home clean and tidy.

Sebo is top of the line!

Attachments swivel and does not stick honestly The Sebo feels like it was made by people who actually knows what’s needed when vacuum cleaning (unlike the Dyson folks) and nothing is complicated or hard to change! This is the best vacuum I have owned and easily beats Miele, Dyson, Electrolux and many other brands I have owned. Also the Price is well worth the product!

Design

Need a new vacuum for pets/allergies, upright preferred

It's likely not a popular one with enthusiasts, but you might read some reviews on the Shark Apex DuoClean or the Shark Vertex DuoClean- the corded models with the keyword being the DuoClean head design. Right around your price range and I have seen some good reviews with tests for the situation you are describing. I believe all Sharks have a 5yr warranty too. They also have cordless models, but I have not read anything on them

To spend or not to spend

The SEBO K3 is wonderfully quiet. The exhaust air passes through what looks like a cushy bumper around the perimeter of the canister. Hence, the name "Airbelt." This excellent design helps account for the quiet operation of the machine

Filters

Refurbished, like new condition. Missing/used filters

Upon unboxing and initial inspection you can tell it had been previously owned but was well cleaned. Everything worked perfect. The round foam filter was clean but stained/discolored and the HEPA filter was not there. I would still recommend but maybe have back up filters too

Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations <$500. Mostly hard floor, with one wall-to-wall carpet and a couple small rugs.

You do lose sealed HEPA filtration with that but the filtration is very good with those machines

Sebo K3, Sebo E3, Miele C3 (and which C3)?

I recommended going to a local dealer. I just got a Sebo K3 with 8 bags, filter replacement and the turbo brush attachment for $650. Plus supporting and knowing the person who will probably service your machine is nice too.

Cord Length

If loving you is wrong...

My only complaints are that I wish the hose was longer and there was a greater variety in available attachments. I would like a full bristled upholstery attachment. Those two things and this vacuum would be perfect, but even without it's really, really excellent!

HIGH EXPECTATIONS BUT LOW DELIVERY

This is my third Sebo after having owned older ones for years and replacing parts that were costly but always available. Some advances with the newer one: quieter, lighter, and smaller. But the cord is TOO short ---unless the user does not object to re-plugging from room-to-room. And get this: The small brush attachment is loosely secured outside to the handle with a makeshift plastic clip! Oh, the cost of the bags: Sort of like the old inkjet printers that retailed for $100

Noise Level

Good power, acceptable battery, but very loud

Overall, I'm very pleased. The battery life is 'okay' or competitive with most other cordless vacuums, but shocked me was the noise. This vacuum is VERY loud and almost sounds broken when it is running (I ended up looking at the head to see if something was wrong as it was that loud)

We bought it again

The Kenmore is too loud. We used to be loyal to the Kenmore brand and even bought the Panasonic version once but now it is Sebo all the way. We had tried a Miele years ago when we settled on our first Sebo K3. The only problem we had with the Miele if you are curious is how hard it is to push and pull on carpeting
