The dust bin is simple to remove and clean out and no vacuum bag is needed. This vacuum is definitely doing a great job of keeping my home clean and tidy.

I find the best ways to handle hairwrap is a brushroll that’s easy to remove and clean or one that you can cut the hair on 2 sides of the brushroll and then turn it on again to suck it off.

Upon unboxing and initial inspection you can tell it had been previously owned but was well cleaned. Everything worked perfect. The round foam filter was clean but stained/discolored and the HEPA filter was not there. I would still recommend but maybe have back up filters too

It has a hepa filter and a hose and combo tool. It's not a BIFL machine but it's filtration is decent and it should last 3-5 years with normal maintenance. Just make sure she's comfortable with the swivel steering, some people don't like it. My personal choice would be a light weight Oreck with a hepa bag or a Riccar Supralite but your Mom deserves to use whatever she likes :)

Overall, I'm very pleased. The battery life is 'okay' or competitive with most other cordless vacuums, but shocked me was the noise. This vacuum is VERY loud and almost sounds broken when it is running (I ended up looking at the head to see if something was wrong as it was that loud)

They are not however the best performing vacuums on carpet because they lack height adjustment. They are not suitable for hard floors because the brushroll is always spinning. If you found a used Oreck in good condition for $40 it’s not a bad deal and they’re are plenty of used Orecks available. Lastly be advised Oreck XLs are loud
