I also have to balance that with how much it will be used. I was willing to pay the $250 for the top of the line in this category (although I didn't want to pay that much), if it met certain criteria. Some of these criteria are not shared by everyone. I live in a smallish condo- I don't have tons of space for everything I could want and certainly not out on the counters

Still, if you're looking for a handheld vacuum that can handle messes on a variety of surface types, it's a good option.

This worked on small things I wanted to tidy up around the house, but the suction is not great and really didn't touch any pet hair from any surface I tried. I even took before/after pictures of my car, where the white Husky hair stands out against my charcoal grey upholstery, but the pictures looked identical. The attachments further reduce the suction. First the most important feature, the suction power. It is average. I had a Shark model previously and it lasted 10 years. While the Shark CH951 is lighter weight, it has half the suction of my old one

To remove hair and pet fur from cloth and carpets, a more powerful vac with a beater brush is a better choice. For quick touch ups however, this works well enough. The motor is surprisingly powerful relative to the vac's size and more than up to the task of what this seems to be designed for. It does a decent job of picking up debris from car interiors but a more powerful vac will be required to thoroughly remove ground in debris
