Best Standing Desk Converter of 2022 - GearLab

Bought this sleek desk because of the look and functionality.   The onboard USB port is convenient to charging while working.  I am not sure the price is worth it- it seems a little pricey. We’ll see!

Worth the price?

Took some time to assemble since screws wouldn’t fit proper. Once I got it done it worked for 5 mins but then started moving up and down on its own. Eventually got an error that the mototr had heated up and I should leave it for 20 mins! I unplugged and replugged and it kept doing the same. Finally gave up and returned it!

I have worked from home temporarily before, but now it will be my permanent work location. I bought this desk because of its features and appearance, and I could not be happier. The glitch is not "a glitch" per se. The solution is included on the instructions

 The front to back rocking, though there's definitely more movement there, and it's around that 39 inch mark that you start to notice it, and it gets especially more noticeable as you increase the height and then increase the weight. But overall, if we're, comparing this to other desks without traditional cross, supports the wedge system, helps a lot. We'Ve been talking about for a long time with uplifts product. They didn't have a traditional cross support on their original desk, but they did have the wedge

 My thing is with this particular model. Is just this front to back rocking there's. Definitely some more motion here at that 39, then the wobble and when we jump up to the 42 and a half you'll see that'll continue to get a bit worse. You can see it's a little bit easier to get it rock or excuse me wobbling here at this height too, but i mean i still think it's pretty solid kind of up the columns of 42 and a half, but this front to back rocking, though you can See, there's quite a bit more movement there with all the weight on the surface, we'll go to the max height, which is about 51 inches, and this is where you'd expect the desk to be its worst and that's really what you're gon na get

 You can actually see it, you can actually see in the column itself, there's play and that's where that is really stemming from now. If we take this up to its max height and if you've watched these videos before this is the the least stable for all the standing desks when they're at their max height, you can see i barely grab on here and you can get it going pretty good. Look at this rocking same thing: you know maxed out it's going to be its weakest point. This is the least amount of overlap in the comms, but this this column down here in particular, you can really see the movement down in here

 We'Ve been talking about for a long time with uplifts product. They didn't have a traditional cross support on their original desk, but they did have the wedge. It helped a lot, especially comparing desks like the fully to it. Of course, you still need a traditional cross support to be really really solid and we've seen that with other desks that we've tested as well

Fully Jarvis Standing Desk: Stability Test

Been doing a lot of research and narrowed my choice down to the jarvis fully standing desk leaning more toward the gostand desk but heard a lot of both good and bad about the jarvis desk. 

[URL REMOVED] after a desk that is 160cmx80cm both desks have this option. Need the desk to be stury and of good build quality. Must have programmable memory. Considered going for grommets and a side draw but think I'll end up putting them in myself to save on cost, the jarvis has grommits preinstalled which would make replacing with a power grommet a lot easier

 I did run into a few issues while setting the desk up the first one was. I almost threw some of the hardware away if you are buying a desktop from fully just be aware that the hardware that attaches the desktop to the legs actually comes in the box. With the desktop separate from all of the other hardware, i threw the box away and i had to go digging in the garbage to retrieve them. They come in a little red baggie

 Anybody that has come in since i put this desk in has commented on how nice the desk is.  The desk is a great and quick feature to use. One mistake i made when checking out with this desk is: i accidentally ordered the version with grommets, i'm not personally a fan of grommets, i'm not actually using the grommets on my desk. Fortunately, if you make the same mistake, i did the grommets easily pop out and you can cover them up with a lamp or a hard drive or whatever you have on your desk. I'Ve been using the desk for about a week now and overall, i've really enjoyed the experience for the first few days

Fully Jarvis Standing Desk Review

I've used the Ergotron LX and Fully Jarvis. Their designs are fundamentally the same and both require some distance between the back of the desk and wall if you want to be able to use the arm's full range of motion without gouging your drywall.

Hi there! I’m using an Uplift desk and am interested in getting a monitor arm for more desk space and adjustment options. I’ll be buying the Dell S2722QC 27” monitor. 

I’m split between the Fully Jarvis and the Ergotron LX. I’ve seen some reviews for the Jarvis saying it’s impossible to have your desk close to the wall — I’m in a small space, so I need to keep my desk up against the wall. Has anyone experienced issues with this? Would the Ergotron have the same issues? Would also love to hear general thoughts from anyone who has used these arms!

I’ve also seen that the Amazon Basics arm is the same as the Ergotron, though I wonder if it’s worth paying more for Ergotron’s 10-year warranty.

 The Fully Jarvis with a bamboo top is my front runner but it’s just so expensive for what it is. For a 140cm wide bamboo top option it’s £769 and I’m not sure this even comes with the programmable controls.. seems a heck of a lot for what it is

Had a look at some offerings from Fully and Flexispot who seem to be the best suppliers in the U.K. The Fully Jarvis with a bamboo top is my front runner but it’s just so expensive for what it is. For a 140cm wide bamboo top option it’s £769 and I’m not sure this even comes with the programmable controls

I have a 72x30” Fully Jarvis in a dark bamboo and that’s what I used. I didn’t want to drill into my brand new desk so I went with this Privacy skirt that you can clamp on for easy access and it’s worked wonders for me. I hate cable management because I suck at it and this skirt can allow you to throw just about anything into the skirt to hide all the wires and cable.

 I also bought the other edition, which is an absolute must, which is the four memory setting controller which allows you to automatically transition the desk to your pre-configured favorite, top four positions for one of the better words. So i must say this clear surface with the monitors. Actually, on the dual monitor stand gives me so much real estate. 180 centimeters is huge

 So i purchased a fairly cheap rack that attaches to the underneath of the desk off amazon, and that allows me to have an extension cable underneath which everything else plugs into so all the keyboard, the monitors, uh, the google home hub, etc all attach into the extension Lead, which means there's only one cable, that that links actually to the desk from the main supplies that makes it super clean. Underneath it's okay, i've talked a lot about the positives. Pretty much all the value add that you're going to get with this desk, but what i haven't talked about is the negative. So should i actually say the one negative that i can say is probably important to mention, and it's actually picked out in some of the videos that i did previously on the mac games live channel where someone commented on when actually at the top range of the Desk uh was there a little bit of shake, so let me move

 You'Re concentrating on the text on the screen or on the video that you're watching you don't really see that now, if i'm doing something heavy and moving around, there's there's a little bit of flex that goes on in this on this desk that, as you can see From the yeti arm that i've got above a lot of shape that goes on there, so i'm just going to be mindful of that. So in conclusion, this is a fantastic addition to any home setup from a life unlock perspective. Yes, you can probably buy alternatives that are cheaper. Yes, there are probably cheaper versions that are mechanical in terms of their sit-stand nature, but combining the stunning finish, the bamboo edging the automatic controller
