These are very detailed sounding headphones, the high frequencies are a bit sharp coming from closed back headphones but you get used to it, especially because you don't need loud volumes to hear details in all ranges, bass is definitely subtle, but punchy and sub bass has a nice range, its not like you'll notice its there but you'll notice if it isnt, depends on the song. Soundstage is hard to explain, coming from open back and in ear headphones and earbuds I always like the "inside your head" sound and coming in to these I was expecting a kind of out of head experience, which it can be, depending on the sound design, but for most songs, although there is a difference its not groundbreaking, people will mosly no notice. The bleedthrough is not bad and since i use these while gaming, my friends haven't complained about sound coming out of these, but then again i have a dynamic mic, also you wont hear your surroundings that well, i can barely hear someone coming into my room, so if you wanted more "spacial awareness" these won't really help. Now the one thing I struggle with is the comfort, it's not like these are uncomfortable but they're pretty tight out of the box, they're a bit on the heavier side of "light" and being used to "on ear" headphones having nothing touching my earlobes but my temples being pressed is a weird feeling, also the earcups are elongated so i feel the edges pressing against my jaw

Its been quite a while, 7 months or more, since I bought these and I still feel comfortable in them. I use them with the A20 amp from Beyerdynamic. I keep the volume less than 1/4 turned 99% of the time and the quality of sound is amazing, the comfort is amazing, the amount of clutter caused by the cables from both amp and headphones is minimal. Just buy the things, your ears and head will thank you for not buying a more rigid and less comfortable pair

It is ear-piercing and hurts. I don't know why noise-cancellation is an option as these are open-back and no mic. The open-back design is nice as it expands the sound-stage. The headset is about half the weight of my previous headset so that is a plus, however the major flaw is how it sits on the head

The circle shape put some pressure on my jaw. This design mixed with the dense balanced pads made this headphone too uncomfortable to wear for over an hour. -I wasn't sure whether to put this as a con or not since it's also a pro but in my opinion the treble is overdone. It's so strong that while gaming, firing an assault rifle sounds like it has more treble than bass which makes no sense

This is why I removed a star. Although, honestly, I have no other headphones that fit this price/profile to which I can compare these. Would doubling my budget to $400 and getting the Sennheiser HD 660S give me a better experience, similar to my old set? I wish I could tell you. To put my review in context - I listen mainly to Apple Music via a 24/96 DAC

With a fair price to performance cost. I ended up returning the DT 1990 Pro. I was not even impressed with the music listening performance.
