Seiko 5 Sports SRPD vs Orient Mako Ii

I sized it and it has perfectly balanced weight in conjunction with the watch, it feels solid though not entirely (who cares), and the clasp closes with an excellent click with nothing appearing loose nor giving the impression that it will snag onto anything or slowly open. The lume, as expected, is beautiful and is even in brightness all around the face. On the wrist the watch, again, has wonderful balance around the whole circumference of the wrist. The weight of the watch does not feel as if to swing in favor of any side of the wrist

That is where this watch shined. It ain't a zillion dollar Rolex or a Breightling. But it is gonna last and do its job. And it is something you can give to the kids, even if just as a token

. Initial impressions: The 5KX doesn't disappoint! The rich blue sunburst dial on the SRPD51 and applied indices are much more attractive than the original SKX's matte/printed dial, and while the bracelet and endlinks might be folded and hollow, the way it articulates is super comfortable, plus the smooth clasp functions very well. I'd even say that with the flat display caseback instead of the famous raised wave logo of the SKX, the 5KX sits nicer and more planted on the wrist

I purchased this with the idea of making it look like my dream watch. A grand seiko spring drive watch. And I've succeeded. This came originally with a blue diver bezel but removed for a lucius Atelier polished pilot bezel

This Mako II is the first Orient watch I've had that has had this problem. The fit and finish of the Mako II are generally nice, but it seems that Orient is beginning to cut corners in manufacturing, which is disappointing to me as an Orient collector. The case for the new-production Mako II just doesn't seem as well made as my other watches, like the Sun and Moon, Triton, Classic and Bambino. Regarding the Mako II in general, there are some things about it that I like and some things that I don't like

This great looking watch was exactly as shown and arrived as promised. Great price for a Seiko automatic.

The accuracy has been a little fast but seems to be settling down. Over all this is a nice watch for the money.
