It might work OK if the longer pile rug is permanently installed wall to wall, but for longer pile throw rugs, this machine is not good. -Wish the beater bar would turn off when I'm using the wand or the "power paw". The beater bar just spins and spins when I'm using the wand. - No storage place on the machine for an extra section of wand - that's annoying

Your U1's also gonna be good for cleaning the cyclones every so often since they will hold onto a bit of dust every time you empty it. Like another commenter suggested, a second set of washable filters is a good idea to eliminate the downtime caused by a monthly filter washing.

. ten years in and I am just now servicing it with a new filter and belt, and not because it is faltering at all but just because it has been faithful for TEN years! I was also told Sebo vacuums have been used for decades in the White House and that it will last long enough to pass on to my kids! Not sure about that, but honestly the thing is a workhorse and worth the price tag.

The carpet in my apartment is relatively flat/worn (think standard bedroom carpet, but less plushy, nor berber), so I assumed using it on 1 was ok. Should this be set to 2 or 3 instead to help prevent the issue for the type of carpet I have? Also, should I have the vacuum serviced as a result of the dust and debris that clogged the filter? I am concerned that the brand new motor is at risk as a result of what happened.

.we have now had this over 10 years and despite needing a cord repair (again from an inattentive user running over and over the cord thus fraying the rubber covering) and repair of the handle locking mechanism (each costing about $60) any hose clog, brush entanglement or other suction problem has been so easy to troubleshoot myself that the power of the vacuum today is the same as when I bought it. It easily pulls up all the labrador hair from the corner of the rugs and transitions easily from rugs to hard wood or tile floors
