The leather sheath after drawing and inserting the knife a dozen times is being cut up and has already poked out the end on two occasions. The knife itself is great for the price but the sheath is a waste and isn’t lasting making the knife useless as well.

This Schrade knife has a great strength to weight because you don't need to haul extra weight with all your other gear. (This is why I prefer a Glock over a Sig.) The 440 Stainless Steel is pretty fool proof. You get a lot for a low price and low weight

The rivet holes allow for numerous ways to attach the sheath to whatever you want to attach it to. I know that Cold Steel considers this to be a boot knife but I think that it's a little heavy for that purpose. One of their "Spike" series may be a better choice. As I've done with other items, I'll likely make some edits to this review as I use the product a little more

Anyone who has read my other knife reviews know this is a constant complaint: Why, oh why do manufacturers sabotage a fine knife with a bad sheath?? This one is leather and quality isn't the issue. It's one of those ridiculous "boot knife" sheaths with a back clip rather than a proper suspended belt loop. In the first place, almost nobody carries a knife in their boot or a heavy sock except a small minority of outlaw bikers and bag pipers. And true boot knives have shorter blades and grips

While it may not be entirely fair, I will be comparing this knife to a Gerber Mk II which clearly seems to be it's inspiration. It is lighter than Mk II and feels less substantial. The handle seems slimmer in the hand. For users with larger hands this may affect grip

The blade locks so tightly into the handle it is almost dangerous trying to pull it out. I tried sitting there pulling and pushing it back in 50+ times to see if I could loosen it up. No dice. When it is on my belt and I try and pull the knife out, it pulls the whole sheath off my belt because the knife is so tightly bound into it

Very light & steel too soft for a proper edge. Good for sticking into things but too unwieldy for anything else.
