Unlike the LG 27GP950-B, it doesn't support the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1, but it's high enough that it supports all formats from the PS5 and the Xbox Series X, and you can reach 144Hz with 4k signals over HDMI 2.1. Of course, it has excellent motion handling at the max refresh rate, but sadly, there's more noticeable overshoot when gaming at 60Hz, so it's not the best choice if you play low-frame-rate games. It has low input lag, meaning you can respond quickly to the action on-screen, and it supports both FreeSync and G-SYNC compatible VRR, resulting in a nearly tear-free gaming experience from almost any source.

If you want the best 4k monitor with full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, the LG is a great choice, but if you prefer something with a bit less bandwidth that costs less, then check out the Samsung.

The best vertical gaming monitor with a 4k resolution that we've tested is the Samsung Odyssey G7 S28AG70. The best 27 inch display is the Samsung Odyssey G7 LC27G75TQSNXZA. It's a great overall monitor that has excellent gaming performance and features. Although we tested the 32 inch model, the results also apply to the 27 inch variant. It has a fast 240Hz refresh rate that results in a responsive gaming experience. It also has native FreeSync variable refresh rate (VRR) support and G-SYNC compatibility to reduce screen tearing. It has an excellent response time across its entire refresh rate range, and it has a low input lag that makes gaming feel responsive. It's good for dark room gaming as it has high contrast, but it has narrow viewing angles. Sadly, there are reports of the backlight flickering with VRR enabled, which gets distracting.

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card and want a monitor with native G-SYNC support, the ASUS ROG Swift PG279QM is a great alternative. It has the same 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate as the Samsung monitor, and it has the same quick response time and low input lag. It's not as good for dark room gaming, but it also has wider viewing angles if you want to use it for co-op gaming.

If you want to save a bit of money or your graphics card can't handle the 4k resolution of the LG 27GP950-B, then a mid-range monitor like the Samsung LC27G75TQSNXZA is a good choice. It's available in both 27 and 32-inches, and although we tested the 32-inch model, the results are also valid for the 27-inch variant. It's an excellent gaming monitor with many features, but it has a lower 1440p resolution than the LG, so images aren't as sharp. Instead, it has a higher 240Hz refresh with a quick response time, whether you're gaming at its max refresh rate or 60Hz. It also supports FreeSync natively and has G-SYNC compatibility.

It's a great choice for dark room gaming because it has a high native contrast ratio resulting in deep blacks, but its edge-lit local dimming feature is terrible, so it's better to disable it. It also displays a wide range of colors and has okay HDR peak brightness if you want to use it for HDR gaming, but as expected for many monitors, it doesn't deliver the most impactful HDR experience.

You Can't quite make out his pupils or anything like that,, but his control stick is very well-defined.  The Other part is the pixel response times, And one quick and dirty way to see how good those are is just dragging a window with text across the screen. You Can see here, I'm getting very little in terms of discoloration at the edge of my window, and text remains readable until I'm moving it quite quickly across the screen. So You can see, it's actually curved a little bit more sharply in the middle, and it's a little bit gentler towards the edges. Hey everyone I’ve been looking into grabbing a good 4K HDR monitor for Photo/Video editing and gaming. I mainly want it for editing but it would be nice to have a good one for gaming as well for mainly single player story games. So I’m not after the high refresh rates or quick response times but more so the picture quality and accurate colour.

I have been looking at the LG 27UL850, LG 27UL600-W and the Samsung U28R55 monitors however it has been hard to find stock and they utilise FreeSync so I’m just wanting to know if there’s any alternatives that people can recommend? I have a Nvidia GeForce GPU and Intel CPU and am using DisplayPort so I was looking for something that has G-Sync as well if possible.

Ideally I’d want to spend under $1000 (Australian Dollars) if possible but willing to budge a bit more if it’s worth it and the monitor be in the 27/28 inch range.

Also just a side note do PC 4K HDR monitors work with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X with 4K and HDR over HDMI?

Good HDR monitor for Photo/Video editing and Gaming?

 All the icons and menus are extremely tiny. They are shrinking with the higher resolution. They seem to have an attitude problem with blowing themselves up to the 175% I asked for. Not all software gets along

 We will see. As I have done on other reviews, I will amend this one if my viewpoint changes..

 It should aid in focus, I hope.  I will say at the 2560 x 1440 resolution, which it calls native, it only allows a 144 Mhz refresh rate, nothing greater. So the 240 Mhz that it advertises must be at lower resolutions. But 144 Mhz is better than the standard 60 Mhz that you get with most monitors

Very nice monitor but very difficult to understand the numerous settings

 I'm effectively doing a new car review every single week. Now To kick things off, let's talk about specs and here the 27 inch and 32 inch models are identical, whereby they have a 240 Hertz 1440p Va panel that's installed, which is pretty impressive to say the least, and there's very few panels out there that have that same sort of resolution and refresh rate. Furthermore, this has Hdr 600 certification, which is a rarity in most modern monitors. I'm just glad to see that Samsung has actually got that standard and we'll talk about Hdr and brightness further down in this review

 So what I'm trying to say here is in terms of its response time. It's seriously impressive, be it for casual or in terms of competitive gaming. Now in terms of the input lag, it's also similarly very impressive. Now, While it won't quite compete with some class-leading Ips 1440p, 144 Hertz monitors out there on the market or indeed some other Tn based panels, it is among one of the best 240 Hertz panels that I have tested When it comes to input lag and basically combining this with the overall response time of the monitor, you're getting a fantastic overall gaming experience

 Now, the monitoring question is available in two format sizes, in other words, 27 inch and 32 inch. I'm reviewing the latter. However, it's worth bearing in mind that the 27 inch model starts from 530 pounds in the Uk and 680 dollars in the Us. If you're interested in purchasing either size, it'll be down

 And of course that's never really put on marketing claims or really tested other than from reviews like myself. and people fall into the trap of thinking high refresh rate therefore equals better gaming performance, and therefore you'll be a better gamer. Definitely not never the case, but truthfully, input lag and response time are super super important if not the most important element when it comes to using a gaming monitor. And in this respect, the Odyssey G7 has a fantastically low response time

Samsung Odyssey G7 review: The ULTIMATE gaming monitor!

 The point is that I was able to lower the resolution to 1080p 144hz to mirror my built in laptop display and I was shocked to see just how clear it still was. When I had done that on my old display, the 1080p and lower was virtually unplayable due to how blurry it was but on this screen, it still looks really good.  My one complaint is that when the screen goes to sleep, I can't wake it without unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in (to the laptop). I didn't have this issue on any other monitor I've used with this laptop so it's definitely a screen thing

 That might seem odd to some but I spend more time in Outlook and Brave than I do coding anymore in my position. Anyway, like I said the resolution didn't change from my old monitor, but the physical size difference is what made this possible. I couldn't read the text as well on the 25" 1440p monitor and if I scaled the display it lost too much working real estate. Now I have no issues at all so this was a huge improvement

 I currently pair it up with a 1080p 144hz gaming laptop. For work, I'm able to put Outlook on the right and web browser on the left while I use the laptop monitor for my coding IDE. That might seem odd to some but I spend more time in Outlook and Brave than I do coding anymore in my position. Anyway, like I said the resolution didn't change from my old monitor, but the physical size difference is what made this possible

 The bottleneck now is my laptop as it can only push 1440p above 60fps at low settings in Warzone and usually overheats my CPU. Anyway, this isn't a laptop review.  Look at the Youtuve videos of the UFO test. This thing performs and has low response times. gtg 1ms  HDR - Its HDR 600 and no FALD. They dont advertise it as FALD

 This mode is a little slower at 144hz at a 6.55 millisecond response time average, but it still packs great performance with a limited amount of overshoot, 60 hertz and everything in between those refresh rates using this mode provides what i'd describe as a single overdrive mode experience. Even if it technically doesn't use variable overdrive compared to other monitors, the eave spectrum is decent at its maximum 144hz. Refresh rate response times are in the ballpark of other ips monitors, while retaining a low level of inverse ghosting

 While the response time average is better than the normal mode. Overshoot is significant and noticeable leading to inverse ghosting trails. Cumulative deviation is worse than the normal mode, so we've gone backwards here when weighing up the bounce between speed and overshoot. Beyond this, you can control overdrive via the user customizable slider, which allows values between 0 and 63

 It supports. Adaptive sync variable refresh rates. It has one millisecond rated response times through the use of an lg ips panel and it has hdr 600 rating with up to 750 nits of brightness. The big selling point here used to be hdmi 2

 The basics here that using a user setting of 15 for overdrive causes a bit too much inverse ghosting at 60 hertz. After careful examination of a range of overdrive options, i ended up settling on a user setting of 10 for the best experience across the refresh range. This mode is a little slower at 144hz at a 6.55 millisecond response time average, but it still packs great performance with a limited amount of overshoot, 60 hertz and everything in between those refresh rates using this mode provides what i'd describe as a single overdrive mode experience
