If you don't want to spend as much on a cordless stick vacuum for handling pet hair, the Samsung Jet 70 Pet is a good alternative. It lacks the Dyson V15 Detect's built-in particle sensor and automatic suction power adjustment capability, but it doesn't cost nearly as much. Pet hair-cleaning performance is exceptional on bare floors as well as low and high-pile carpet. Its floorhead has an easily removable brushroll, allowing you to quickly cut away any tangled hair

None of the other stick vacuum managed to do this, although the Gtech AirRam came pretty close. (It cleaned up 90 percent on hardwood, 97 percent on mid-pile carpet, and 98 percent on low-pile carpet.) If you want your stick vacuum to regularly collect cereal or other large particles, the Hoover Linx is up to the task. Pet hair is another tough category that some vacuums handle much better than others

Unfortunately, while its maximum runtime of roughly 50 minutes isn't unusually short for a vacuum of this type, you can drain this vacuum's battery in a little over five minutes when using it in its strongest 'MAX' mode, so you need to work quickly when vacuuming stubborn debris.

I don't like to have to charge the battery after about 15 minutes of use, and that's without using the brush attachment, which decreases battery life even more.

It's also easy to maneuver, even in tight, cluttered areas. It also features a five-stage filtration system and is very effective at capturing fine particles.

I took apart the head, which is very easy to do, unclogged it, and cleared the brush. I also washed out the sponge filter at the top of the canister with a bit of dish soap, rinsed it well, and let it dry. I then took apart the rest of the vacuum, also easy, and cleared the bottom of the motor of silty dirt. The vacuum functions like new

However, it does do a similarly fantastic job of handling long hair on a wide variety of surfaces. You can also easily remove the brushroll in its floorhead to cut away any tangled hair. This vacuum's five-layer filtration system, which includes an onboard HEPA filter, helps it capture fine allergens as you clean. It's also lightweight and can be easily reconfigured as a handheld vacuum to clean small areas

This vacuum's onboard HEPA filter is part of its five-stage filtration system, which is quite effective in trapping fine allergens and is quite useful if you have a heavily-shedding pet. Its floorhead's brushroll does attract pet hair, but you can easily remove it from the floorhead and cut away any tangled debris. You can also purchase a dedicated mopping floorhead separately, which is great for clearing away stuck-on dirt and debris that your pet might track in after going outside.

When I noticed the suction wasn't as good, I just cleaned the removable filter and let it dry. It worked as good as new after that. Also, you will occasionally have to remove hair that has accumulated in the dust cup. The cyclonic action tends to make it wrap around the "dirt cup baffle" as Hoover calls it

I like my Samsung stick vac it is very light and easy to use and maneuver. It works amazing on my tile and hardwood floors. It cleans quickly end easily and is so much better than sweeping. It's also great and lightweight for stairs

This vac is a lot more convenient than my main vac and it does well for what I use it for, but it cannot compete for carpet cleaning.

I like the vacuum it’s light weight and has good suction for pet hair! I don’t like the way it drags pet hair under the bottom and gets back on the floor once you have a good pile of hair and the battery life could be better for the price!

UPDATE 11/13/13 Well another piece has broken. We had been working harmoniously without the beater bar on our hardwood since Spring, but now a piece of the red plastic insert on the inside of the canister broke so it will not stay snuggly attached while I am vacuuming. Without that piece on, all the hair and big chunks get sucked into the filter area. The brush bar on our 11 year old Dyson also broke last week, so I am trying to decide whether to buy a new Dyson upright, or just keep the old Dyson for our hardwood floors and deep cleaning, and get a new Linx to use on our three rugs

I like the aesthetics of this vacuum it’s Easy to empty when fill , the suction is great however I find the battery does not last long enough for me to clean 1 living room dining room area kitchen before it needs recharging
