Performance

Beautiful tablet, can be hard to hold with a case, Software has room for improvement

So if you are a reader and want to hold it like a book vertically, you stand a chance of discomfort trying to hold it in portrait mode. - While the snapdragon chip that is included in this tablet should be more than enough to do most tasks, the few programs I used that streamed games and or shows seem to always have a micro stutter, and I spent most of the time having this trying to fix the problem and find out which of Samsungs programs are bogging the tablet down. I never found it out. Hence why I returned it

9”, this is not as big of an improvement as I thought it would be. Yes, this is faster but unless you’re a pro or gamer, you probably won’t notice a big difference from the chips a few years ago. The picture, taken on my iPhone XS max, shows a comparison between the 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9 from 2018 (right) and the new one (left)

I would go with the S8 because of the size, but I DESPERATELY want that OLED screen on the S8+!

The smaller iPad is cute, but the 12.9" screen size was better for us and the 2TB capacity makes this the perfect iPad for us.

Battery Life

I need a device that has a good battery and charge fast since i use it often. I thought that the Samsung one was a good option since the other two don't have water protection.

One tiny hiccup, but all is well now.

The battery life is awesome. I can sit and edit for hours without being interrupted to charge it. I actually don’t think it’s ever told me to charge it, I just do after I am done with it. The touch screen is very responsive as well

Apple still dominates the tablet market.

I switched to the M1 MacBook Pro in 2020 and the improvements were astounding. Those improvements don't really seem to have quite the same impact on the iPad, and that's mostly because it's still a victim to iPadOS. I don't imagine that Apple has any plans on allowing its iPads to run MacOS, due to cannibalization of the MacBook market, but iPadOS has its limitations. I do not think the iPad is ready to replace your laptop quite yet, but the power is there to do so

Weight

I was looking for a replacement for my 7yo Tab S2 8", that was more powerful. Yes, it is slightly larger, but it has to weigh 3-4x more than the 8"! Very heavy! The resolution is good, but again, not nearly the pixel density of the 8". Haptic feedback feels like a small baby rattle, weird. Also, typing, it will double tap, or pick up on letters you are close to, even if you aren't touching the screen

Bad screen, heavy, cumbersome, bad keyboard, etc.

This 12.9 iPad is huge and heavy, making it inconvenient to use, which is exactly what the iPad was designed NOT to be. The screen is "ghosting," meaning if you're using at night on a black background, white letters or images have a halo effect. Not good for night time use

Image Quality

I just like it.

It's a great tablet. Good size, performs well enough for gaming, picture quality is really nice. Color in games is very vibrant and pretty. The S pen is cool to use even if you're not into drawing

Verdict - Mini LED, and an M1 SoC create almost the perfect tablet

However, the iPad Pro 12.9 is not always ahead of its 11-inch sibling regarding colour reproduction and dark surroundings. The use of PWM for brightness control in the 12.9-inch model will also upset some people
