What’s the best performing phone for the price right now?

On T-mobile, the best value phones (for CPU performance) are S20 FE/S21 FE, OnePlus 9, Nord N10/N20. Avoid LG phones like the plague, last month every LG phone barely worked because of a pop-up that something was crashing constantly. Stuff like that is only getting worse.

But unfortunately, the new Xclipse GPU doesn't really look like a finished product yet, so gamers (still) have to be content with reduced details and low frame rates in a high-end smartphone. While Samsung will probably still bring some improvements in this regard via updates, considering the premium price, users should surely be able to expect a more mature product here.

I used the 9 in some of Seattle’s ever-present drizzle and nothing bad happened. So depending on how you buy it, the 9 may not have that stamp of approval, but you can rest assured it’s just as robust as its peers.

A worthy Note successor that stands alone

In everyday use, the S22 Ultra performs like the $1,200 flagship that it is. Jumping from app to app is quick, graphics-intensive games run smoothly, and everything looks buttery smooth on the 120Hz display. In my testing, it was a very rare occurrence to see the screen stutter as I scrolled, and in the cases where it did, I don’t think it was the phone’s fault (I’m looking at you, Twitter for Android).

Replacing a failing Pixel 3XL, this has done the job quite well, but...there are some quibbles.

The screen never had any wear at all. The scratch isn't bad, you can only see it if you look at it at an angle. But still. This concerns me

Durability

How do I find contentment in that which I already have?

If you get the best tablet or phone there is, there is no need to get another for at least 3-5 years, then software might become outdated. Everything released in between is just noise to me. Even a $600 phone can do exactly what a $1200-1500 s22 ultra or whatever can do. Tablets might be a different story, but you just have to reset your brain that all these things aren't necessary

Battery – I don’t have a 5G contract, so I disabled 5G, set brightness to adaptive and so far I am getting 7 to 8 hours plus of screen on time, so no complaints. Charging does seem a little slower, but to 50/60% it’s about the same.

I can only say the phone is not bad, but certainly not as good as I expected based on the price I paid. The Camera quality is good, but the battery life is subpar. The system was also kinda buggy. The overall value is definitely below the oneplus 5T that I bought it nearly 4 years ago

Attractive designI like the 9 Pro's classy design, and the standard OnePlus 9 has much of the same visual appeal. There's the glossy back and metallic edging, the neat camera unit -- and I like the purpley-bluey tones on my review model, too. Its screen doesn't curve nicely at the edges like the Pro and overall it feels more midrange than high-end, but is that really a reason to spend the extra? For me, it's a perfectly good trade-off.It also doesn't have any official waterproofing, and while OnePlus reckons it can still shrug off a spilled drink or two, it's best to be extra careful next time you're around clumsy friends carrying beer
