I ski fast because I paid for this lift ticket and I paid for these stance 102's and by God I'm going to get my money's worth

we've all been there

 These skis handle powder conditions pretty darn well, especially in the way that they stay composed and they track really well. These aren't going to get deflected. They hold their line really, really well. Really strong, really good vibration damping, so nothing's going to throw you off your course

Not something that you see a lot of, so kind of positions itself as a unique ski, which is always really cool

 So two sheets of titanal metal in this ski, vertical sidewalls, sandwich construction, it's a burly build, full on ski. They do remove some sections of metal, thus the twin frame name, so they remove these little windows of metal and instead of metal in that section they put their CFX fiber. So a combination of carbon and flax fibers woven together and then placed into this portion of the ski, that allows them to retain stability and energy, responsiveness, while also taking a little bit of weight out of the ski. This 183 is still 2120 grams, so it's not like they're super light, but having those little windows or the twin frame construction does result in a little bit lighter swing weight

 Right here we've got the Salomon Stance 102.

 This is the widest ski in the Stance line and is back again unchanged for 2022.

 The Stance line in general was designed to complement Salomon's existing QST line.

 So if you're familiar with the QST skis, they're more focused on freeride performance, soft

 snow capabilities, some people use them as kind of hybrid alpine touring and resort skis.

 The Stance line on the other hand are designed to be more powerful, more stable at speed,

 thus they're a little bit heavier too and just a really good collection of skis.

 It's very, very well designed to better complement Salomon's existing models.

 This 102 in general, like I said, it's the widest.

 It also differentiates from the other Stance skis in the fact that it uses quite a bit

 more rocker, so the rocker profile in this ski is more consistent to what we see in the

 QST 106, very, very similar rocker camber lines in the Stance 102 and the QST 106.

 Both skis designed for soft snow, but the construction of this ski is much different.

 So we get a full poplar woodcore in this ski and then we get their metal twin frame technology.

 You feel it when it's on your feet rather than when you're holding it in your hand.

 So the QSD 106 is very playful, very agile.

 This ski is designed more for somebody who wants soft snow performance that's combined

 So if you're the type of skier that just likes to ski fast and hard and aggressively,

 but you like to do it through a wide variety of different terrain and snow conditions,

 There's not too, too many skis in this category, a little over a hundred with this much rocker

 with two sheets of metal, Enforcer 104 from Nordica comes to mind, certainly others too,

 And that means that it's pretty easy to decide whether this ski is for you.

 I always think of somebody that maybe lives out West that likes to ski bowls and shoots

 and stuff like that, that prefers to stay off-piste, but again, likes to ski pretty

 darn fast, almost like a freeride world tour competitor, but on a narrower ski.

 That's kind of how I think about this ski and who should be choosing it.

 You're a strong skier, you're an aggressive skier.

 You're on the heavier end of the spectrum too, but you still want a ski that has really

 Obviously not as much float as like a QST blank or even the QST 106, a little heavier.

 Heavier skis don't tend to float as well as lighter skis, but certainly something that

 you could take out on a powder day and not feel completely overwhelmed.
