Up until now my favorite device has been the Streaming Stick+, but with the ability to add an Ethernet adapter/usb adapter for wired connection and playing media, and an option to use a universal IR remote, these are a great value. Especially if you can catch them on sale for $29. Plus they have have plenty of power, are not sluggish as the 'Express' name might suggest. Great value for the price

 Well, one year later, and going through many Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries, I decided to research this. Wow! This is a known issue. I contacted Roku chat 8/20/21, and was told my remote is faulty, but out of warranty, so I'm SOL. I asked if Roku knew these were defective, why weren't customers notified or a notice put up on Roku's website

 The response was quite hilarious. I was told it is not defective, but it only went faulty after using it and I should buy a new one. Awesome, thanks. Roku also uses wi-fi or RF that is not supported by universal remote manufacturers, so there is truly no other option than to throw more money at Roku

  We have been using these (we installed two in our home, and one in my 90-year-old father-in-law's home) for a month now, and have had no issues whatsoever. We have not had any problems with lag, and pictures are clear and bright (any fuzziness in the photos I've provided are the fault of the camera operator!). The user interface is pretty standard for this type of thing - the biggest learning curve we faced was figuring out exactly which apps the shows we normally watched were on. However, between being able to customize which streaming apps appear on your home page, and the two ways to search - you can either type in the name in the search bar, or you can hold down a microphone-iconed button on the remote and, for example, say "Search Criminal Minds", it is fairly easy to get to where you want to be without having to flounder around in the interface

 It was easy to add the streaming services we already had, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, and interesting to browse the many free options available and add the ones we wanted - the Western TV & Movie Classics" channel is a big hit with my husband and his dad. Once set up, there are links on the home page to a "Getting Started" with Roku page, and a "Tips and Tricks" to Using Roku page for more information regarding your Roku, in addition to tiles for whatever channels you chose during your set-up.  The power cord from the USB to the HDMI did split. It still works for now. I can't really fault the device though, since it gets Florida sun on it most of the time it is in use.

0 to 11.5, and the problems persist. My two TVs are old and still work well, so I can't talk about the 4K feature. I have tried several HDMI cables to fix the problems, including Ultra speed cables, but the problems persist

 So have they changed the search capabilities? Have they made them better on the new Roku Ultra? I'm happy to report it has. After numerous search tests using the voice interface, it was reliably able to find what I wanted all the time and using that voice interface either by pressing the voice search button on the remote or just calling to the Roku Assistant was super convenient. On the wireless side, the Roku Ultra doesn't support WiFi 6 or 6E, though this is still kind of a newer, emerging, upgraded WiFi standard, so I'm not going to deduct points just for that. Here you get the WiFi 5 standard and it is compatible with 5GHz WiFi networks

 It can also handle HDR10+, which is a technology that aims to better replicate colour and light and make it true to the original source media. Roku made a point of letting me know that the search features on the new 2022 4K Roku Ultra have been improved. In one of my earlier reviews of a Roku product, I found the search capabilities somewhat lacking. Sometimes it was good at finding what I was looking for and other times it was like I was speaking a different language
