Normally, at $149.99 for a mouse, I'd call for something more feature-rich. But the fact of the matter is the Razer Viper Ultimate achieves everything it puts its mind to. How many of us can say that?

The Viper Ultimate takes one of my favorite competitive mice and removes the wire without compromise. By the transitive property, in my mind, that makes it one of the best gaming mice you can get. Plus, the fact that the wireless is paired with a quick, elegant wireless charging solution makes it a lot easier to stomach that top-of-the-line price.

 It also theoretically improves performance by eliminating "debounce delay," a trait of mechanical contacts that allows the circuit to record when physical contact within a switch is made and ensures your mouse doesn't make misclicks. That performance difference, if it exists, is negligible, so take that claim with a grain of salt. That said, the Viper Ultimate's switches are as comfortable to click as any high-end mechanical switch I've tried, so it isn't a loss, either.

Okay, so let's get to the good stuff&mdash;the wireless stuff. The Viper Ultimate connects to your PC using a 2.4GHz RF dongle. As we've seen throughout the year on mice like the Logitech G502 Lightspeed and the Corsair Ironclaw Wireless RGB, these connections generally work better than Bluetooth, providing a stable, nearly lag-free experience

 That being said, I think I can start with the mouse feet. For a mouse of this price from Razer, there really isn't a good reason that they haven't been improved yet. They're thin, scratchy, and glide poorly. If you're buying the Viper Ultima, I would suggest you add a set of aftermarket skates to your order immediately to get the most from your purchase

 Firstly, Availability 2020 and 21 has seen availability become a major factor when considering tech purchases whether it's Gpus, Next Generation Consoles, final Mouse Drops, or even something like the latest G Wolves, Rts Wireless products are getting more and more difficult to reliably find. There is absolutely a premium in knowing that the Razer Viper Ultimate is available on demand from almost any major retailer or online store, and as a consequence is easy to replace or return if you have any quality control issues. Next positive would be the real price. Now this comes with a caveat: I don't think 150 Msrp advertised is a good deal for this mouse, but the reason I'd suggest this is positive is because I don't think I've seen the standard black edition sold at that price in months, with it selling as low as 99 us dollars with the dock on Amazon in September 2021

Razer Viper Ultimate Review, 2 years at the TOP or WASHED champ? Honest thoughts in 2022

 You can test this online.  + This is my first wireless mouse and I'm pleased to say that wireless feels just as responsive as wired mode. VERY nice to not have to deal with a wire anymore and not have any downsides.  + Good customization within Synapse such as button programming, lighting, power-saving mode threshold, custom DPI, lift-off distance, etc

  - Just a few days in and, though still good, the mouse wheel has slightly lost some of it's snappiness in it's scroll and the left and right clicks have developed a slight give. Somewhat nitpicking here, but I would really hate it if the mouse felt like crap to use in just a few months. For the price, this things should be rock solid for years and not develop that mushy cheapness.  - Didn't think I would, but I constantly press the sidebuttons on the right side when I'm aiming (I use it in my right hand)

5/10 (subjective and also still getting used to the shape so likely to go up, but hitting sidebuttons accidentally sucks - also my first ambidextrous)  Feedback: 8.5/10 (this will get lower if the shell quality doesn't hold and the snappiness diminishes)  Quality: 8/10 (mostly concerned about long-term quality here as left/right buttons already have some slight give/shake to them after a few days of use and the scroll doesn't feel like it's going to hold it's feeling of precision and snappiness in it's steps - otherwise though, pretty solid)  Software: 7/10 (good options but a little too bloated - can thankfully choose which software you'd like to install)  Value: 7/10 (I got it on sale for $120 but I think it's worth more around $100 - if it was perfect for my hand and grip, $120 would be kind of okay maybe, however twice the price of the wired is high enough - full price is simply too much and in the end, I might come to regret not just buying two $60 mice and a bungee)  Currently, this mouse is hovering around an 8 or 8.5/10 for me. This is likely to go up to a 9 with use and as I get used to it's size and shape, just as long as quality and performance stays the same as it is now

Hey guys, I had Razer viper ultimate and deathadder V2 pro. They were good but the small profile and side buttons on viper ultimate were quite small and position bit weird (hard to press side buttons, had to squeeze to press correctly) and deathadder has nice side buttons but it's bit big for my hand.

I just bought the razer Viper Ultimate superglides since they’re so small and slapped them on the base of my mouse lol.

While it may be a negative for some, righties and lefties with medium to small hands will like the symmetrical shell and compact proportions. Add to this features list adjustable polling rate &#40;125, 250, 500, 1,000 Hz&#41;, an onboard DPI/CPI adjustment button &#40;400 - 1,200 in steps of 100&#41;, and customizable lighting, and it should be clear why we took a liking to this unit. 
On the downside, the O- has just 6 buttons at the user's disposal which requires the use of software to remap. Also, the light weight takes a bit of getting used to &mdash; we never did feel at ease when playing MMOs and the like. Indeed, this is a speed mouse best fit for FPS gaming where quick flicks are key. If you like what this model has to offer but are concerned about sizing, there is a medium option available as well.

This is where my positivity ends. My issue with the MZ1 starts with the right side of the mouse. Unlike the generous comfort grooves on the left and front of the mouse, the right side is straight. This isn’t a problem in relaxed fingertip grip where your ring and pinky finger are either straight or in the areas where there are no mouse holes

 You could accurately use this mouse without touching the mouse with your ring and pinky fingers. The comfort grooves really provide a strong controlled grip that many users will benefit from. The front of the mouse is very low and embodies Zy’s design goal of trying to turn a mouse into a pen/pencil. I would even go so far as to say that holding the mouse can feel like holding a fat whiteboard marker

 The short length of the mouse and high rear make this an extremely stable relaxed fingertip mouse.

 The MZ1 is front heavy which makes the inclusion of RGB baffling. To balance the mouse a user has to grip closer to the front which puts the fingers ahead of the sensor. This limits movement possible by the wrist and fingers in-game.

 +Middle click on the mouse-wheel works great without lurching the wheel around like other mice I've used recently -cough-EVGA-cough-  Cons: -Sized awkwardly, the way the grip is designed it encourages your fingers toward the middle of the mouse instead of straight forward. Main clicking finger will wander to the side of the scroll wheel. -The back-button is placed exactly where I place my thumb for claw grip so it gets hit accidentally pretty regularly. -Texture on the side is a bit smooth, meaning you will need to grip tighter that you would expect

Not bad, not great

 The mouse does use a 2.4GHz connection though, and the DPI maxes out at 19,000. DPI steps range from 400-800-1600-3200 by default. DPI steps are indicated by an LED at the bottom of the mouse

**Shape/Coating:** The shape of this mouse is low at the front while relatively flat which then dips in the middle and has an extended lower back. The Model O is typically compared to the FK series of Zowie mice. The mouse shares a matte coating across the whole body ignoring side buttons and DPI switch which are both coated glossy

**Scroll Wheel:** The Model O wireless scroll wheel uses an F-switch green encoder, while the original Model O used an F-switch red encoder. The scroll wheel here feels very smooth in use, while the steps are subtle but defined, the switch used here is also a Huano green. The scroll wheel rubber itself doesn’t feel great in my opinion and gets oily rather fast when looking at previous usage with other Model O’s.

 The only real negative feedback I can give for the software is that there isn’t any indication of the battery life percentage. All you’re given is a battery icon with segments on the battery you have left. I’ve spoken with Glorious about this already, and they’re working on it.
