Many of the best lightweight mice are sitting at premium prices, but that doesn't mean you can't find a high-powered ultra-lightweight mouse on a budget. Meet the Razer Viper Mini, the best budget ultra-lightweight mouse we've tested. Based on the original Razer Viper, this mouse is smaller and slightly lighter, but it feels just as sturdy as its larger counterpart.

Its click latency is outstanding, meaning gaming will feel responsive no matter the genre. Though the sensor isn't quite as good as the full-sized model, it still offers a low lift-off distance and a fairly wide CPI range, within which you can find a sensitivity setting that suits your play style. Also, its cable and feet are both high-quality, and they don't cause additional drag on desks and mousepads to slow you down.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have a pair of side buttons on either side like its larger namesake, and, due to its smaller size, it likely isn't the best choice for larger hand sizes. The best budget FPS mouse is the Razer Viper Mini. As the third entry from the Razer Viper family of mice on this list, it's a testament to the enduring quality and flexibility of this classic shape and Razer's ability to adapt it for different audiences. This mouse is a smaller version of the classic, and it has quietly become a favorite among FPS enthusiasts for delivering solid performance at a fraction of the cost of some of many FPS flagship models. It's remarkably lightweight and has outstanding click latency. Its sensor is an older PixArt PMW3359. It isn't as consistent and has a narrower CPI range than more recent Razer offerings, but it's still very reliable. The best lightweight budget gaming mouse we've tested is the Razer Viper Mini. At 61g, this small, wired option offers very responsive-feeling gameplay thanks to its amazingly low click latency. Neither its feet nor cable cause drag on desks or mousepads, so you'll have a smooth and fluid gliding experience.

Using the companion software you can reprogram all of its buttons, and you can adjust the sensor settings and customize the RGB lighting to suit your preferences. However, the software isn't available on macOS. Although, you can save your settings to the mouse's onboard memory using a PC and carry them across to other devices without the software installed.

Unfortunately, its sensor is a bit inconsistent and tends to undershoot the set CPI by quite a bit more during slow, tracking cursor movements. Also, due to its small size, it's best suited for a fingertip grip, so if you have larger hands, you'll likely want to check out a larger option if you prefer either a claw or palm grip. With that said, it's still an impressive lightweight option for a gaming mouse and performs excellently for its budget price point.

But also the Viper Mini fills my hand better because of the hump, the DA V2 Mini’s shape feels much flatter in my hand. In the end it comes down to whether or not you prefer symmetrical or asymmetrical shapes. The “improved” cable may or may not please the ones who complained about cable drag on the Viper Mini, but Razer has been doing a great job of listening to us so far, and I am sure they will consider reverting back to the old braid if people don’t like the new one.

Switches were really light, but still an amazing budget choice for a gaming mouse.

I have been using Viper Mini with 400 DPI/1000Hz and a 55cm/360 sensitivity (arm aimer) and I did not feel any drastic difference in LOD after the new firmware but rather it feels a bit more accurate sort of, someone stated as mouse being "not as floaty" but for me it might as well be just placebo. I have been maining the Viper Mini from release and never felt the LOD being too high, it never was an issue in-game for me. I do lift off my mouse quite a bit while playing but never had any major issues with the LOD, only when "testing the LOD" it might have felt a bit too high. After the new firmware I feel that the difference is rather more accurate feeling of the sensor and for me it made the mouse ever so slightly more better which it already is

Viper / DA Mini LOD Improvement - Results

The clicks were mushy and not great, they put me off the mouse, but I loved the clicks of my  viper mini, I saw online their hotswap and decided to swap them over to see if it fixed the issue and it did!. I now have an amazing Viper Ultimate, and one crappy Viper mini with mushy clicks!

Not sure if people know, but you can easily swap Viper mini switches into your Viper Ultimate.

**Question 1 : Stiff/Heavy USB-C cable vs sort-of flexible/light microUSB cable.**

Any USB-C cable we ship to customers will need to be safe and compliant with USB-IF specs. This means the cable will need to support 3A current, much thicker gauge and much thicker shielding. As most of you would know - non-compliant cables are a major pain point for retailers and the industry... [Amazon routinely bans brands that sell non-standard cables.](https://techcrunch.com/2016/03/29/amazon-bans-the-sale-of-rogue-usb-c-cables/) Using a non-compliant cable is NOT an option for Razer. With micro-USB, we can continue to offer the speedflex cables (that we ship with our mice now). Of course, we do understand plugged-in use is not the dominant case for wireless mice.

Sidenote : USB-C does not automatically mean fast-charging as some people assume. Almost none of the USB-C mice on the market till date have actual fast charging. The charging current is well below what micro-USB can provide (500mA).


**Question 2 : 50h battery that charges in 1 hour vs 70h battery that charges in 2.5 hours.**

For the same weight, those are the 2 options available. Batteries that allow faster absorption require bigger anodes/cathodes, and hence lower capacity. Alternatively, for the same weight you could have battery with smaller anodes/cathodes, slower absorption rates but higher capacity. For mouse charging purposes, USB-C vs micro-USB has no bearing on charging speed. See sidenote above.


**Question 3 : wakeup on click with worse standby battery life vs no-wakeup on click with significantly improved standby battery life**

Most of our wireless rechargeable mice use optical switches. To allow the mouse to wake up from sleep using mouse-click, the switch/LED needs to be ON to detect the input. Based on our 2019 focus groups, people DID notice the lack of click-of-wakeup feature, so we decided to keep the feature. However, seeing as people complain about the "days between recharges" as one of their pain points compared to other mechanical switch mice, I'm opening this up for feedback again if people are willing to live with the requirement to move the mouse to wake it up. Do note that it IS very much possible to click mice without moving them what so ever.

Good mouse but mine has a flaw.

 It honestly felt very good. I played very well with it and i do think that the build quality is absolutely phenomenal here and again. I only have one copy to test right. So whether or not there are issues across the batch, i don't know, but the build quality on my copy is superb, the switches are great and the sensor is what glorious has termed the banff sensor, which to me feels no different as far as responsiveness to a G pro super light, i do feel i play very well in game with the model d wireless

 At myself, i've never tried the zowie ec1 because i always felt it was too big. I wouldn't play well with it um and that you know smaller, more maneuverable mice in the hand, would offer a benefit. But after trying the model d, i can say that, despite its larger size, i'm playing very well with it and i think it really depends for me personally and everyone is different, but on any given day, i might want to play a little bit more aggressive with Those inner hand, movements and flicks and cutting those curves with something like the prime mini wireless or if i want to go a little bit smaller than the model d with the pulsar x light. But i can say that my tracking and my consistency felt very good on the model d: it's a very comfortable hand, filling mouse that just feels good and it works, and i don't necessarily think that i can recommend the mic, the mouse for everybody

 The model d is probably your best option if you are a large handed user and you're looking for a wireless ergo mouse that you can relaxed, fingertip grip or fingertip grip. The model d wireless is a solid option. It honestly felt very good. I played very well with it and i do think that the build quality is absolutely phenomenal here and again

 We have the steelseries prime mini the pulsar x light and then the glorious model d wireless, the steel series, prime mini, is clearly the smallest of the three and the pulsar x. Light again is very, very close to the glorious model d, but it is definitely not as wide not as high in the hump and not as long as the model d. So, if you're looking for something that is a little bit smaller than the model d, the pulsar x light is a fabulous option. Very lightweight has similar clicks as far as kl8s and very good build quality, and it just feels very, very good in game

Glorious Model D Wireless Review

Took me a while before finding a mouse that fit my hand and yes the g703 and Makalu do fit nicely.  Other mice that I tried and found fit well are the G Wolves Skoll L and the Glorious Model D

 However, visually, there is one change. You can note by the original Model D, we no longer have the honeycomb cutouts on the left and right clicks. So it ditched that here. I think it's also a much more cleaner look without those honeycombs in the paddles

 Alright, so checking it out, just like we saw Glorious do last year with the Model O to Model O wireless, now we have the ergonomic shape with the Model D wireless here on deck. It does come in both a black and a white color option in both matte finishes, no more glossy, and it's advertised at 69 grams with like a 2 gram variance. On my scale, comes in right at 68 grams, so just slightly lower than advertised, and definitely still on that lightweight spectrum here. And getting it unboxed, yes, it is pretty much identical in terms of, you know, shape and design to the original Model D, just now wireless, obviously

 So today, we're going to check it all out for you guys. Pros, cons, talk about my experience, my opinion, all that good stuff in case you're trying to pick up the new Model D wireless, or if you're looking to upgrade from your current gaming mouse. Alright, so checking it out, just like we saw Glorious do last year with the Model O to Model O wireless, now we have the ergonomic shape with the Model D wireless here on deck.
