For the RGB-lover that doesn't want to break the bank, we recommend the Razer Cynosa V2. This simple keyboard uses rubber dome switches, so they're quiet to use and feel comparable to most other basic keyboards. Underneath the keycaps, there's a frosted white plastic plate to keep the colors crisp, well-mixed, and bright. While most rubber-dome keyboards with this kind of construction usually have zone lighting, each key on the Cynosa V2 is independently lit and customizable. Unfortunately, its latency isn't low enough to handle competitive games, but it's low enough for casual gaming and everyday browsing or productivity tasks.

If you still can't shake the desire for a mechanical option, check out the EVGA Z20. Each key is individually-lit, and there are two additional lighting strips on either side of the keyboard that you can customize using the EVGA Unleash RGB software. Although this software is a bit clunkier than other companion programs, it's still easy enough to use, so you can get that backlighting exactly how you want it.

The Razer Cynosa V2 is a decent quality gaming keyboard with the user-friendly, feature-packed Synapse software backing it up. It has fully customizable backlighting as well as 11 preset light arraignments, and it also boasts dedicated media keys for keeping sound effects and music dialed just right. Additionally, the unit has N-key rollover with anti-ghosting as well as the Hypershift function that allows the user to seamlessly move between customizable keyboard layouts. 
On the downside, we were a little surprised that, given the other features packed into this keyboard, theV2 lacks a palm rest and USB passthrough ports. Perhaps these were omitted to keep the cost down. An additional concern is the initial stiffness of the keys. While they did break in over the course of our testing, the fact that their action changed in such a short period left us wondering about their long-term durability. That said, we think that this model offers consumers considerable value as the keys are completely remappable, and binds may be set on-the-fly.

\#1: the keycaps themselves don't appear to be backlit, so only the case of the keyboard glows. It will not help you type in a dark environment. On the other hand, the clear case design looks kinda cool, even if the colors don't animate.

Every change to the Ornata V2 is an improvement over the Ornata Chroma, but I don't feel the changes are quite enough to maintain the product's status as a go-to for players who are looking to upgrade their gaming keyboards but aren't ready to invest in mechanical keys. The Ornata V2 is still a very good keyboard, but the world around it has changed. 

Like all Razer peripherals, the Ornata V2 supports Synapse, the company's configuration software. Synapse is one of the best, most robust configuration programs out there for keyboards&mdash;you can program and save macros, remap keys, and customize the keyboard's RGB lighting.

As an added bonus, some of these changes, particularly the media controls and relocated LED indicators, make the Ornata V2 layout look tighter and better composed than the Chroma. There's very little unused space on the top case, and a nice symmetry in the RGB lighting, which now extends all the way across the back row.

 Very ergonomic and comfortable, my only complaint is the spiral pattern included with the Razer Synapse software made me very disoriented. Solid colors are a must if you plan on giving your undivided attention to any game you may be playing.

I am disappointed in the quality of this keyboard. I had high hopes for Razer due to their reputation. Whatever they use to denote the keys is wearing off after only two months of regular use. I reported to Razer and they said this is normal and not covered by the warranty

this keyboard makes me like corsair even more because of its quality to afforability Ratio. it feels premium for its price. the key could be a alittle quieter and the hand rest that snaps on is a bit flimsy but you can take it off easily. other than that the g keys are great

lastly i wish the keyboard was non plastic but for the price its decent! i would pay anything over 45-50 for this keyboard. (The keyboard shines through its software)

**VictSing Wireless Gaming Keyboard $32.99 on Amazon.** It's membrane and from a reputable company. 3000mAh battery. VictSing makes a lot of decent quality under $50 mechanical keyboards using Chinese switches. Reviews seem to confirm it has 50 hours of battery life.   It has some simple RGB.

**Jpwpowe 61 keys usb 2.4G Wireless Dual Mode Keyboard**  $32.27 on Amazon. Some type of mystery switch in red or blue. It's a 60% board with only a 2000mAh batter. 0 reviews and made of ABS which is not ideal for a keyboard.
