RAINS Field Bag vs The North Face Never Stop Utility Pack - Women's

We walk away from the Rains Backpack with a few key take-aways, not least of which are the less-than-ideal shoulder straps and its fiddly adjustment, the subpar internal visibility for this black variant, and the interior pocket’s zipper that was prone to jamming. It’s not all bad, though, as we still think that the styling’s appeal still holds up.

It makes the pack wonky and it won't set down well unless it's SUPER packed. If it's super packed, it bulges upward into the main compartment and cuts the room in that part down so much you can barely fit anything in it. I bought it for my carry-on for a trip to Europe and ended up not using it because it was awkward and didn't hold much at all. Now I am stuck with it since it's been a tad over the 60 days and NF won't take it back

This bag is minimalist and waterproof, both of which I love. However, after a month or so of more or less daily use as an urban commuter, the material around the logo has started to peel off, revealing a lighter colored material beneath. I would have hoped it would last longer without getting damaged.

Phenomenal backpack! Shoe compartment holds an extra pair (W US 10.5) for travel, lunch bag for work commute. Very roomy, efficient use of pockets for additional storage. Lightweight and comfortable to wear
