My experience with sealed hasn't been great - given they were very cheap subs that were more "fart boxes". However, the reviews on the SVS SB100 box said it goes plenty low, maybe not as low as the ported, but it goes plenty low. And low it does go. I was able to put this in a place where I didn't have bass localization and no rumble

Upon reassembling the unit of course I discovered that a couple of screws were stripped - wonderful. Anyway the stripped screws were on opposite sides so not worth my time to try to get a resolution from Polk. The unit sounds very good and is a good value, but given the poor customer service and product reliability I can't recommend it.

Initially was going to swap the first sb-1000 with my daughter's substantially larger bedroom sb-2000 (which has the metal grille making it even larger) but decided against that due to size considerations and the sb-1000's decent output even in the wide open living room area. Fyi, I also have two beastly sb-4000 subs in my home theater room and I'm still impressed with output from the comparitively tiny sb-1000. However, the sb-1000's enclosure is nowhere near as inert as the sb-4000's but that shouldn't be expected considering their size, weight and power difference. I highly recommend the sb-1000 especially for music

You know for another 125 bucks. I think you can get a much better sub now, if you're at the 325 range, which is where i think this sub should be price...

stay away from other subs. this is the best sub for the money on the market. svs gives amazing customer service and their warranty is unbeatable. the sound is amazing in my medium sized room

This subwoofer does NOT mate well with these Orb Audio speakers. There's not enough midrange frequency output. It's not the fault of this SVS subwoofer, so I give it a clear 5 stars. RECOMMENDED!!!

I am happy with the 440 but I did have to turn up the subwoorer volume to 30 (out of 40) and it still shakes my theatre room but not the entire house :)
