Pilot Metropolitan vs Sailor Pro Gear Slim

I actually want to like this pen. If this pen performed the way it feels this would be my go to pen. However, I did say if. As it turns out, it writes just OK but not what I would call good

In my first hand experience, the sailor gold nib is as good as you will get in a <$300 pen. If you want to get a converter (not included) and use bottled ink, I find Sailor converters much better than Pilot or Platinum. This review is for a fine nib, I already have a medium nib which is even smoother. I wanted a fine for business notes

For me this is a negative; I wanted somethin hefty in my hand. The nib is supposed to be a medium sized, but it rights like the fine nib pen that I tested. It still wrote smoothly and consistently. It did not catch on the paper or snag

I have this pen, it’s beautiful but heavy. To me it’s not a first pen, particularly with a stub. It would feel really weird to her if she’s only used ball points, gel or fine liners.

**Pilot Metropolitan** - pretty good, better ones for the price. I bought my metro for 15$ and was kind of satisfied.

It writes well and the nib looks nice but I am not that impressed with the plastic and the finish of the pen considering it’s price. I don’t intend to buy any others.

Pros: - Feels really good weight wise (very hefty for a pen). - Top Cover / top clicks very nicely to the base (feels very good to play with while thinking). - Fancy (10 points for Gryffindor?) - Easy to refill (I'm using the cartridges, takes 15 seconds to swap out the cartridge and makes very little, if any mess doing so). - Replacement cartridges are cheap (12 for ~$6), runs about the same (maybe a little less) than a pack of ballpoint pens

(Build quality is, as expected, nicer. If you have doubts about getting used to the smaller size, maybe try the Lecoule first.) The nib is smooth, despite being a Fine. It is a real Fine, comparable to Pilot Fine
