 It’s a very classy and elegant looking pen. The fine nib writes beautifully and the capping mechanism is simply sublime. I bought it through Amazon for less than $100, which, for a 14k gold nib with a very unique looking pen, is a bargain in my mind.

Depending on where you buy this pen, it may or may not come with a CON-40 cartridge converter. This particular purchase did not come with a cartridge converter, but with a Pilot branded black ink cartridge. This wasn't a problem since I have a few CON-40 converters handy. But if you do use a CON-40, there is a downside to it: because the CON-40 is so small

 Lastly I did not feel confident enough in the caps retention to have it in my pocket. I’m sure it works well in other uses, but I bought it to be a pocket pen.

Next level (under $100) - Pilot Elite 95s - I have both F and EF - superb in every way. Moderate (under $150) - Pilot Custom Heritage 92 - does everything well. A step up (under $300) - Pilot Custom 823 - great nib, the filling system, hard to beat this pen at any price. Pricey (up to $700 or so) - Pelikan Souverän M1000 Green - beautiful pen, fabulous nib

 There’s a small bit of feedback, but overall this is one of the smoothest fines in my collection. I am in love.

 I never post my pen caps. This pen is very compact and will easily fit into vest pockets or shirt pockets. It is very fine quality and very lightweight. It is one of the silkiest writing pens I have used and rivals pens costing almost a grand

  Pros: -comes with two ink cartridges per pack, so you end up with 8 ink cartridges (4 black and 4 red) in this set -multiple widths allow for experimentation and practice, and the color coded tops make it easy to tell each size nib apart -no leakage laying down, woohoo! -cartridges keep the mess to a minimum, unlike bottled ink -ink doesn't soak through the paper I'm using (Tomoe River paper in a Hobonichi)  Cons: -takes a while to work the ink down the barrel to the nib, I accidentally squeezed one cartridge too hard trying to do it and cracked it...ink everywhere! -wish the pack came with colors other than just black and red, throw in a blue or green or something!

 You can even fill the barrel with ink. I am new to lettering and these were the recommended pens for a formal lettering class(uncial). The 6mm gives a really wide stroke you can check your angle and work on technique but the smaller sizes are great for a variety of lettering sizes, Pens are well made and I have not had any trouble with changing cartridges and cleaning them is so easy. Ink cartridges are reasonable so there is not an excuse to letter

 Make sure you rinse it well when switching inks/colors!  The price is phenomenal, too! I think I've seen these easily go for $10+ apiece before in art stores.
