If you plan to use the bike for 7-10 years overall the price is probably less than a gym membership. My guidance to you is look at endurance road bikes by Trek or Specialized. I would stay away from gravel, hybrids, or mountain bikes since you are mostly going to be on pavement. I used this logic in 2019 and ended up with a Trek Domane SL5 that I put thousands of miles on
