 I'm here today to talk about the Torrent Shell Jacket from Patagonia. Anybody looking for a good entry-level garment, I think you'll find it's pretty hard to go past something like this. And what do we like about it? Nice Velcro closures on the sleeves, you get a nice tight watertight seal, pit zips for additional ventilation, really well designed hood, which is absolutely ideal, nice peak on the front, also an adjustable tab to stop it dropping down onto the face, which I think is really important. The other great feature on the garment is it's got a nice easy to use zip that really has any snagging problems

Patagonia Torrentshell 3L Review

 I'm here today to talk about the Torrent Shell Jacket from Patagonia.

 Anybody looking for a good entry-level garment, I think you'll find it's pretty hard to go

 You've also got a really good storm cover, so if you've got any weather coming sideways

 at you, you're going to have minimal risk of getting water into the jacket via the front

 Nice high collar through here, plenty of protection around the face, a couple of hand warmer

 pockets, really, really nice, and I think you'll agree it's a nice stylish garment.

 The other thing this year is that Patagonia are now using what we call a three-layer fabric.

 Previous years, the garment's been much lighter, this year they've put in a nice light tree

 comb mesh, makes the jacket much, much more comfortable to wear, particularly if you're

 working a little bit harder and you're getting a bit of a sweat builder.

 Fully tape sealed, it is a totally waterproof jacket, and Patagonia are also using recycled

 Really well worth a look, and please, we'd love to see you.

I do the Patagonia Torrentshell over the poofy and it's a great windbreaker. Also bonus that if you get too hot you can unzip the pit zips!

I've been wearing my Patagonia Nano Puff as my only winter jacket this year (Midwest US) but now it's getting pretty cold out and I may be traveling to NYC for work, where I'll be walking outside more than just 1-2 minutes at a time. Any recommendations for what I should layer over my Nano Puff to add warmth? What is the term for a thicker outer shell to layer over this for added warmth and weather resistance, without being a full-on stand-alone parka type thing?

Winter Jacket Layering Over Nano Puff

 I tried on the cheaper end, now this Patagonia is way more expensive than the Kufan V but sometimes you get what you pay for so let's take a look. All right, I'll tell you what, I feel pretty dry. The water just sheds off of this thing, so let's see, I wore like I did last time a darker color shirt, so if water comes through we will see it and we are dry, arms are dry and the jacket is dry, no water whatsoever in here. Okay, so let's go back out, we'll try opening the pit zips here, see here, well at least these are easy to open with the jacket on, that's kind of important if it's raining out you don't want to take this off to open this, so I think that's all the way, there we go

5 layers, so yeah very good jacket, so the only downside to me is the price, it is a lot more expensive than the other one but if the other one doesn't keep you dry then you know, is what it is, there is a few other jackets that are cheaper that I've heard had some decent ratings but after miserably failing on the first one, I went with one that just had absolute solid reviews of somebody that stands behind their product, because you know, I'm traveling overseas I don't want my products to fail and then you know how do I get something else, I want something I can count and depend on, I really believe I can with the Patagonia, I know this is just a short term review but if I ever have a problem with this product I'll leave a comment down below, I'll pin it, it will be the first comment but so far I think this is going to be a good product, so the only other downside to it I wish it did fold up a little bit smaller, there are some rain jackets that do fold smaller but I swear every time I watch the review I want to find a jacket that didn't exist or wasn't in, I don't know if Patagonia had these, so this is my choice and I'm happy with it, I think it's going to do good, being in the military, any of you that have been in the army with me know that it wasn't raining, we're not training, that was the logo and I swear it was true because we spent a lot of time being wet and I no longer want to be wet, I don't like being wet, I don't want to be camping or on vacation and be wet, I did that enough in the military so now it's my time to stay dry, very good jacket, it's pretty comfortable, like I said you can use this as an outer layer if it gets cold, you can put a lighter jacket or sweater on, use this as a windbreaker, I mean it's pretty stylish it looks good, if you get hot you can always open up the pit zips there, I really do like the hood, I've had too many raincoats, you know you put the thing in it's over your eyes or you turn your head and you're looking inside the shell, this one moves with you, I really think you know that the way they put the band middle of the head like that works well, just a really really well made jacket you know, sometimes the old adage is true you get what you pay for, I tried to be very cheap and expensive on the first one and that failed miserably so I stepped it up this time, good job and I feel proud you know with Patagonia's history of environmental friendliness and staying behind in products that I can recommend this product, you know as a veteran I take my words serious, I won't recommend to my fellow citizens and people out there products that are garbage so if it's junk I'm going to tell you it's junk, if it's good I'm going to tell you it's good, I purchased with my own money, this was not given to me so I'm under no obligation, zero obligation to give this thing any kind of rating so this is mine, I purchased it and I think it's good, it is a bit pricey like I said but if you want to stay dry maybe if you're riding a bicycle or a motorcycle I think this thing will work out pretty good for you so there you have it, the Patagonia Corent Shell 3L jacket, alright like, share, comment and appreciate, I hope you subscribe and join us for our adventures maybe you'll see me wearing this thing in Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, wherever, somewhere in the world, Canada so stay tuned you'll see us wearing these things all across the U.S. and the world so please subscribe, like, share, comment and appreciate and until next time stay safe and we'll see you in the next one.

 Today we're still on the hunt for the perfect raincoat so when days like this happen we

 could stay dry and today I'm testing out the Patagonia Torrent Shell 3L and we'll see is

 this one going to be good or is this going to be another flop like the Kufan V jacket.

 So I've been on the hunt for the perfect rain jacket for a while.

 Me and the wife, we own a motor home, we're going to travel all through the U.S. and up

 through Canada and then we hope to pack our bags and head overseas and visit at least

 So we're on the hunt for gear that's going to be effective, it's going to work but we

 need stuff that's packable, lightweight, stuff that can travel because we're going to be

 limited to just carrying a backpack and a carry-on so we have to have gear that's not
