Secondly, if you use compression straps very often or are in the habit of really cinching straps down extremely tight, you’ll likely see wear here too. This is more of a user error as abusing the straps will of course result in damage, but it’s still something to keep in mind if you tend to do this with other backpacks.

This backpack is so spacious! I have primarily been using it for hiking/camping and climbing. It can fit all the gear I need and then some. It's very durable and seems like it would hold up well in rainy/wet conditions.

Hello Exped! Fully loaded w/bearcan, 4 days food & 3L water was max of 33 lbs. This pack carried it perfectly. Muir Ranch to Whitney w/no resupply required ~ 40lbs on day 1 for full load w/water . Again this pack rocked! The suspension system efficiently transfers the load to the waist belt and off my shoulders

The rest of the main compartment is a top load bottomless pit, so use those packing cubes people! The interior lining color differs from pack to pack depending on the exterior color you choose. However, Patagonia made sure to use different color exterior and interior colors, which we found really helpful when searching for gear inside the pack.

I like the one-compartment setup better than conventional packs, as it turns out. I'm always losing stuff out of those floppy top pockets by accident, but no more. A small stuff sack stowed inside the top of this pack works much better for me than a top pocket.
