This camera is off the chain AWESOME!!! If this model had the larger touch screen of the FZ300, its constant f/2.8 aperture, and the weather sealing, I'd have given it 6 stars, not 5. For a difference of only $100, I can't for the life of me understand why they don't combine these extra features of the 300 with the larger image sensor of the 1000 for the PERFECT bridge.  I thought I would love the constant f/2

  How much difference does the much larger sensor on the 1000 really make with regard to overall image quality and detail? HUGE. MUCH greater than I actually expected. Hands down NO COMPARISON straight out of camera. When shooting RAW, it was possible to pull out similar details in the 300’s files by adjusting exposure, white balance and highlights (details that seemed to be altogether missing when viewed straight out of camera) during processing, but who really needs more steps from downloading shots to final product?  If you’re in the market for a bridge camera that can offer the convenience of a huge focal length without the cumbersome inconvenience of multiple bodies and heavy lenses, plus image quality comparable to many DSLRs, this FZ1000 LUMIX has no competitors in this price range

If you're waffling between the FZ1000 and the FZ300...THIS is your choice!

 I carried it everywhere for 5 days and it wasn't bad. It uses the same battery as the FZ200. This is good because I have two spares already. The downside is that battery life is not nearly as good

 It shoots adequate video but the stills are very limited. The FZ1000 is in another league compared to its little brother. The sensor is about 4 times larger and you can certainly tell. With the FZ200 I usually shot video in MP4 at 30fps

 The helicopter video that I shot at this is event looks awesome. I did not experiment a lot with settings but have no complaints. It did very well even in low light situations. This is a great video camera

 I have not even begun to explore all of the features of this camera. For someone like me who is moving up from an FZ200 this is an awesome camera. I could not be happier. Is it perfect? No but considering the balance between sensor size and length of lens and, of course, cost I think Panasonic got this one right

The Holy Grail of camers!

 No more missing that ultimate moment of action, just record the action and pick out a frame. The lens is phenomenal. I tested sharpness at every length and it is sharp enough though out the range to provide good shots 90 percent of the time. The optimum sharpness is around f4

 You can video at night with good results unless you are in totally dark conditions. The 4K video mode is exceptional, I have a 4K monitor so I can see the results. I promise you, by next Christmas, the 1080P televisions will be non existent . The 4K in picture mode is unbelievable

 RAW files contain all the digital information capture during an exposure. Jpegs are compressed files and contain much much less information. In your kids lifetimes it may be possible to extract even more quality from RAW files. Plus every time you share a jpeg from a non-original source it becomes worse and worse as it is recompressed and drops quality

5. That is not to say that quality falls off at either end, the average person this camera is meant for will be more than satisfied. I cannot imagine being able to set more parameters on a camera. But if you find all that tedious, set it to AI and 99 percent of time you will get a satisfactory image

So I feverishly researched cameras and ended up with this one. I was looking for another bridge camera that would be comparable to my SX40 but with an upgrade in image quality

 I was able to disassemble it and fix the lens, but then while putting it back together I snapped a ribbon cable on the motherboard going down into the back of the lens. Found a replacement on ebay, but IMO it was the most difficult to replace ribbon cable on the camera..

 So I feverishly researched cameras and ended up with this one. I was looking for another bridge camera that would be comparable to my SX40 but with an upgrade in image quality. I found all of the cameras I was looking into had about the same image quality until I started looking at ones with a 1 inch sensor. The FZ1000 hit several of my desired other qualities while having the 1-inch sensor upgrade I desired and even had a swivel display like my SX40, a feature I dreaded losing but expected to, so I was super excited this camera had that

 I LOVE the image quality, and I fell in love with the video quality even though I'm normally not a video person. My biggest hesitation when I ordered was the zoom because I was downgrading from 40x to 16x..

I know there aren't a lot of people out there with 4K displays. I just wanted to be among the first to produce 4K content so that I could 1) differentiate my new video blog from established ones and 2) put more 4K content out there to help move more people to the format. Of note, I read that when you down scale 4K video to 1080P, the output looks really great compared to filming at 1080P (don't know if that's true)

 I know I am sacrificing some capabilities by going with a bridge camera instead. I just decided that I'd rather buy a camera that serves my most important needs, not every possible option.  I like some of its unique features such as its remote Wi-Fi control. I like its long zoom, although I do miss not having a super zoom. Mostly I like the HD video this camera produces. I think the FZ1000 ability to record smooth, high quality video is going to help me get to the next level in terms of videography

  The FZ1000's fast and accurate auto focus also influenced my decision. I wanted to be able to film in dynamic environments and get the best possible auto focus performance available.  Another consideration was Panasonic's reputation for creating cameras that are excellent for shooting videos. I watched and read many reviews on the FZ1000 and on the GH4 and was convinced my next camera would be one of these devices

Great Camera for Video Blogging

  On the camera C1 and C2 are programmable, so I can always have what I want, when I want it.  We needed a picture with both good zoom, and good up close..  I love the way it turns on and off, silly maybe, but with other cameras I'd turn them off when trying to take a shot because the buttons were in close proximity

 This is a little switch that goes back and forth.  the camera is a bit bulky, but I'm not taking anything off for that, it's lighter than my dslr cameras and I like the heft in my hands.  Another must for us was a viewfinder. More and more cameras seem to be going to LED screens only, I want the option

 Honestly, Raw, change this, fix that, no.. I wanted something I can point, zoom, get up close, that takes a good picture or video.  Our needs- after analyzing our needs we realized about 75-80% of our shots are nature, beach, outside settings

  I am not a professional photographer, but the picture quality I can get with the fz1000 is everything I wanted.

 If they could extend it to 600 or 700mm, it'd be perfect for me. But I'm giving it five stars anyway because it's an awesome camera for the money, and an awesome camera in general.  I'm very impressed with it, to the extent that I'm thinking about selling the D3300. It's got pretty much everything I could want in a camera. Good sensor size, plenty of zoom, lots of controls and options, HDR, a panorama mode, a great electronic level, fast autofocus, a fully rotating LCD screen, and a nice viewfinder. The manual focus is a touch clunky, but I do appreciate the focus peaking

 There's a color version and a monochrome version. This is an extremely versatile and well-rounded camera. So here's what I want to talk about in this video. So the Q2 was released in March of 2019

 but I also think that you can control this a little bit With the new metering mode that they've given you for highlight priority. So image quality on here is absolutely outstanding. Reason number three would be versatility. So the way that this camera works is like it takes advantage of this high resolution and you have these crop modes that you can work within

 This is a very unique lens. You're not going to find it anywhere else in Leica's lineup. What also is special about this lens? Not only is it extremely sharp, but it does have a macro function so you can twist the front part of the lens go into macro mode. You combine this with the crop modes and you can get some really interesting macro shots

Is the Leica Q2 worth it in 2022?

 Hey, it's Jordan being filmed on the Leica Q2 in Cinema 4k, which actually looks pretty decent, but unfortunately it's basically useless as this camera has no ports, just an SD card slot and a battery door on it as well. It only shoots in program, auto exposure and this is a camera for people who know what they're doing. You're not gonna be hands-on with this camera, it's a shame. Decent quality, beautiful lens, but I don't think anyone should be using this for higher-end video

 If you were to buy a 28 millimeter 1.7 Leica M lens, it probably will a more expensive than this entire system. So considering the image quality that we're getting, the experience that we're getting, and the fact that the camera is fun to use if you've got the budget for it, that might make this Q2 something that you're really gonna enjoy taking photos with. Now of course this is just our first impressions of this full production camera, but we will eventually have on DP review comm full lab tests, Then you can really get down and see what you think about the image quality compared to a lot of the stuff out there and maybe even explanation of why that JPEG color is crappy in our opinion

 The tactile response is excellent I Like the aperture dial feels like a classic like M lens. The manual focus is buttery smooth and it's really easy to click in to autofocus the macro dial. It's easy to turn back and forth. The only thing I would say is there's no click stop so you might have it halfway through

 And the photos that you get despite kind of crappy JPEG color once tweaked the way you like it are phenomenal. That has to be appreciated. This is a lot like you know the Sony Rx1r 2 and how it was also able to pair a lens perfectly with a sensor. Consider to that
