 One would think the button above the up arrow would be Home, but it is in fact Netflix because you know you spent over $200 to stream Netflix. I think I'm going to try and pull the button out altogether.  A couple other random issues: -There's a noticeable lag when changing Audio tracks. -You can't change the system time off setting (you are stuck with the default, which I believe is 20 minutes)

  These are the biggest issues with the remote: -No subtitle button. You need to menu dive in order to turn on subtitles. -Where you would typically find the back button (on the left side) is instead the Option button. The Back button is on the right side

 so yeah, you'll be seeing that ugly Option menu a lot. -By far the biggest issue is the Netflix button right above the direction arrows, which I believe I've hit accidentally every single time I've picked up the thing. One would think the button above the up arrow would be Home, but it is in fact Netflix because you know you spent over $200 to stream Netflix. I think I'm going to try and pull the button out altogether

 Just tick the feature boxes down the list and the UB-420 does it right. (The Sony x700 setting pages were enough to confuse even me, and I like to think I know what I'm doing..

Unlike my last 4k player, the Sony x700, bought early this year, this Panasonic is head and shoulders better. It does everything it does better than the Sony--not just a little better--a lot better. It's real close to perfect, imo. Don't buy the x700 Sony player unless you plan to start a betting pool on whether or not your streaming movies from Netflix and Amazon or your DVDs, your BluRays, or your 4k discs will lock up and freeze--or you want to take bets on how often a single stream or disc will lockup and freeze

Everything about this 4k player screams quality and excellent, logical design

 It is very slow to connect to a streaming provider such as Netflix. It takes more than a minute to connect to the network. If you watch say, Netflix and then watch anything else, the network is automatically disconnected, so to connect it back it takes a minute to a minute and a half. If you fast forward or back when watching it takes a while to restart the -streaming- video

 The remote has a bad problem with the placement of the buttons. The remote has many buttons, but aside from identifying them, the manual doesn't say much more. The worst part about the remote is the placement of the up, down, left and right navigation buttons, and the adjacent buttons, which are within an eight of an inch of them. The worst is that you can easily hit the Netflix button when going for the navigation button

The streaming feature is bad.

 I needed a player with 2 hdmi outputs so I could send the 4k video to my projector and the audio to my older receiver. This feature is only available on a handful of players and is mostly found on higher end players. My decision came down to this player and the Sony 800mkii. There are a couple of differences between the two and many reviews about each

 I hope a future firmware update will resolve this issue completely as it seems is might be something related to how the player is reading the discs. That being said, every player I looked at had some reviews indicating some sort of issue.  When the player is working correctly, the picture quality is excellent on bath 4k discs and standard Blu rays. The streaming services work ok, but tend to be very slow when loading

 On a couple of discs, the video would breakup for a second or two then clear up. I did some research and found that some 4k discs could have a layer of film on them from when they were made that could cause this issue. So I used a microfiber cloth and gently wiped them before playing. This seemed to help, but some discs still had occasional issues

  When the player is working correctly, the picture quality is excellent on bath 4k discs and standard Blu rays. The streaming services work ok, but tend to be very slow when loading. I don't use this device for streaming since it is pretty limited. It has prime and netflix as the major services, but lacks Disney plus

Excellent player when it works *updated*

 Remote with batteries that are included with it works seamlessly with my TV and the Blue-ray player. 

I got this Panasonic DP-UB420-K 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player to watch movies with my smaller Vizio 22 inch bedroom HDTV. I was attracted to it's Wi-Fi capability as far as being able to switch to Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc when I wanted to watch something other than a movie on a disc. Here is my pros and cons list: 

Pros: Design of this player is super compact. It doesn't take up a lot of space. Half the size of my older Blu-ray player. Wii-fi set up was simple enough

Slow interface but it does what I need it to do.

 Samsung 4k TVs no longer support DTS so HDMI pass-through won’t work. Optical fiber is a slow spec and doesn’t support DTS so that way direct won’t work. This player has an extra audio HDMI but my all-in-one receiver has no extra HDMI so this way direct is also a no. Work-around is in settings to output LPCM stereo when DTS is unavoidable

) I'm using a 12' cable from Walmart actually. This unit has wifi and RJ45 networking capability. Plug in a cat 5 or better cable if you choose to hardwire your network and connect t your switch/router/hub. Plug the unit in and follow the onscreen instructions

There doesn't seem to be a way to change the order. They do offer two "after hours" services so you probably want to save those for later to keep them off the first of four services screens.  Everything froze all the video all the films everything i watched kept freezing. So i say: what's with all the problems at tivo 4k stream, has i called up their website for assistance, technical assistance to no avail they're aware of the problem they're working on it they're aware of the problem they're working on it. This has been going on for over a year, no patches, no fixes what the heck's going on with this organization. Their website lists right here

 I also have amazon fire stick 4k, but my thing is: i use youtube tv for most of my streaming and guess what the roku people and the youtube people are. Having a problem, the roku people are not allowing youtube tv to work on their platform anymore, so they block half the stuff. The video, the dvr, the recordings don't get locked up all kinds of problems. So guess what? If you have youtube tv say goodbye to roku streaming, which i did now i use amazon, i was forced to use it started with it left

A TiVo Stream 4K Complaint & Review of the Amazon 4K Fire TV Stick & Roku Premiere 4K Review

 I love that I can "cast" to the TV from my phone. It FF Philo TV much better than Roku--you can FF by stepping forward which is great to find the exact spot you need. The browsing section is great! It's nice to see a trending section since I don't really keep up with new shows not seeing any ads for them now. It also shows all your apps and what's showing on them too in a browsing section, so that is really nice if you don't really know what tickles your fancy in any given night

  WHAT'S GREAT? What I LOVE to have all my "shows" in one place, so I can decide what to watch--not having to remember WHICH APP these shows are on. This device will tell you which app (well--sporadically tell you--sometimes it will show you it's on YouTubeTV, and sometimes it won't.) You can also add the movies you wish to see too until you see them, then easily remove them from "Your Shows" list. This is my favorite feature

 I love how you can use Google Assistant to do things. AGAIN--these great features are great WHEN THEY WORK. They usually DO NOT.  WHAT'S TERRIBLE? ***It will NOT play HULU--don't even try

  I just went through a very frustrating experieince after upgrading my sound bar to a Klipsch Cinema 600 with wireless rear speakers (also highly recomended BTW).  Google as a company is in the midst of a serious decline.  While their discontinued Chromecast 4K (no Google TV version) will provide Dolby 5.1 for YouTube TV the most recent Chromecast w/ Google TV does not support Dolby 5
