Finally, it doesn’t excel for true performance use—the lining is prone to getting slippery and clammy and there are no pit zips to dump heat. But these complaints are to be expected in a sub-7-ounce shell, and the Helium Rain’s low weight and impressive packability, reasonable price, and surprisingly good toughness make it our top ultralight pick.  The trade-off, I think 427 quid dice, I said, could have lasted a bit longer on the waterproofing. Yes, it's incredibly lightweight, incredibly strong, it's quite stylish yeah. I just wish it would last a bit longer with that coating. This jacket is definitely for minimal, ultralight, backpackers they're, not looking for something that's gon na keep them warm they'll already have an insulated jacket that will go on underneath this for that, and also have a mid layer and everything so they'll be well into the ultralight fast Hiking they're gon na know, if they're going to be walking in some really dry conditions where it doesn't rain

 I'Ve got a fully adjustable hem and cuffs and reflective logos and a carabiner loop. The stitching and pattern cutting on this particular jacket are very good. However, a close inspection on the inside on some of the seams, where the seams are tapes and they're kind of overlap, it just doesn't quite reflect the price point I mean. I know this material is probably quite an expensive material, but I would have hoped that the stitching was a little bit better on some of the seams, especially where they've been taped on the most part

 They may as well make a pocket. That'S gon na actually better fit stuff.  In this video on their website, I said it weighs in at 108 grams on my scales after 200 miles of usage. It came to this. The materials are Pertex shield 30 deniers nylon, ripstop. I can't find a hydrostatic rating for this material, but I assume it's pretty high

 It rained the whole time and it was really the first trip where I got to use this and where it just was not that good. I'M gon na be straight-up honest. I was very unhappy with what happened as I was using this, so it would rain all day it would rain for like 15 minutes and then be clear for like a half hour. EDIT: Thanks you all very much for the quick responses - this is one of the best subs on reddit by a long shot. Majority loves Arc&#39;teryx. Clearly they command the price point they do for a reason - people stand by their gear. Patagonia I am going to look hard into as well as I think Arc&#39;teryx could very well be comparable but, again, much more expensive.

EDIT 2: Spoke too soon? There is a lot of controversy over Arc&#39;teryx customer service (in recent years). I am not hearing many bad things about Patagonia. And now people have flooded a lot of brands into the comments I have never looked into. This thread didn&#39;t make it much easier, but I took Carhart out of the mix, I think intended usage and fit are not what I am looking for. Despite them being durable and thought of as quality.

Almost perfect. Almost. A few things it needs to improve....

 When it does get moist/wet, it dries fast when hung up indoors. The material is kind of slick, so, when wearing a backpack over one shoulder, it slides off. But, when wearing both wraps and a waist belt, the slide makes it more comfortable than a less slick jacket. Trade offs

 It is also very light weight in the hand. I love the color and it is very fashionable for the outdoorsy types, unlike some rain jackets. Size large fits me well, and I'm 6' 1" and 201 pounds at 16% body fat. It is more pliable fabric than some packable jackets, so it does not have as many wrinkles right after being unpacked
