*Warmth and range: With a midweight long sleeve shirt underneath, I'm comfortable in the high 30s/lower 40s (F), and with a fleece underneath, you can go much lower. I live in northern New England and was able to forgo my heavy winter coat for this combination for most of last winter. On the flip side, with a t-shirt underneath, I'm comfortable in the low 60s (F).

Ideal pants would be on the slimmer side, have a cinch at the bottom to keep snow out and maybe fleece lined or just heavier material to keep the heat in and the wind out.

Of course all this tactile comfort would be a moot point if the jacket was too warm/not warm enough to comfortably wear in a variety of situations, which is where the zips come in (you can see all the zips in action [in this clip here]([URL REMOVED] All the zips coming together make the normally very warm jacket surprisingly comfortable in a wide temperature range, which is essential for my use cases.

Again, it's a size large. The non-hooded version came in at 11.82 ounces and the hooded version at 14.14, so super packable barely going to notice it'...

Edit; The XL sleeves are perfect. I’d think about sizing down on this jacket if you’re on the fence.
