While the name of this jacket infers complete waterproofness, this claim simply isn't true. Yes, the jacket will keep you dry, but the materials themselves will still saturate when wet, and it takes a long time to dry. The bulkier design isn't very breathable either, even though you can unzip it to vent heat when needed. Functioning as a jacket for colder weather, you can easily stack a layer underneath, but its bulkier construction is harder to layer under a coat. The sleeves are big, and the arms are also a bit short for longer-limbed ladies. If you're seeking a super-cozy product that feels like you're wearing a blanket and will keep you well protected from the elements, this is it.

And then you have this jacket or you can wear this as like a lighter jacket as well. So as far as pocket goes, you get two side pockets here, they're the size of this whole panel and then lining is like a taffeta type lining inside on both sides

We'Re checking out the three-in-one jacket from outdoor master. This is a women's size, medium that i'm wearing right here, i'll put my specs below, so you can see how they compare to this jacket. Best Budget Fleece Jackets for Women of 2022 - GearLab

Jacket is great! Unfortunately even after spending a painfully long time reading the reviews to try and get my size right, I still got it wrong. I'm 5'4" and weigh 135 lbs and I ordered a small. It's much too tight in my shoulders. I've re-ordered in a medium in navy blue and waiting for it to be delivered

Buy the size you normally would for a jacket

 It's lightweight and will pack well.  The inner fleece is cozy and comfortable and attaches to the shell sleeves with a loop and snap, so no worries about the fleece arms bunching up under the shell. The fleece zipper is also covered with shell fabric, so I think it will be less likely to unzip by itself. There is a build-in snow skirt on the shell and toggles on the hem

 You could easily wear just a long-sleeve shirt under this and be completely toasty. There are some specific handwashing instructions for the shell due to the waterproofing.  Very happy with this purchase! I ordered and returned LL Bean and a Land's End coats because they weren't as well-made as this one. Definitely recommend!

Update: I have now had this jacket for going on 2 years and I still love it. Its my favorite winter jacket I own. With that said, this jacket is not good for snowboarding

I have had this a week and i haven't been using it on really hardcore backpacking or ski touring trips, and i doubt that anyone else has because patagonia had a supply shortage. So they were not able to produce these that much. So that's why they first now in late october, came into the stores

 That'S one explanation i would have, but it has this little bit of flux over here, so it is also possible to put this probably over some gloves and get a better and more snug fit, and that are already the features of the r1 air that i am Wearing now talking about a light weight, my size, sr1 air zipper over here is 268 grams light. That'S quite a decent light weight for a mid layer that you're going to wear not on your own, but likely underneath a windshield or a hard shell, or even some kind of thicker insulation jacket, speaking about wearing something else with the r1 air. I think, even in this kind of warm weather, so five degrees and sunny, this is for me too cool, at least, if i'm not doing something really fast. So if i would be cross country, skiing or ski touring or trail running, this probably would be fine

It is a wonderful purple, fleece, mid layer that i'm wearing right now and it was probably the hottest piece of gear that was presented at the ispo 2020. In munich in this january, a quick disclosure before i kick things off, i bought the r1 air that i am wearing from my own money.  If you would wear something from cotton or merino wool. A little bit about the features of the r1 air you see over here there is one zippered pocket, it's pretty small one, maybe a cliff bar or something like that or your headphones or a couple of batteries fit in there, but definitely no normal sized. A map fits in there, the zipper over here on the crew neck that i bought is really nice to dump extra heat and with the high collar over here, you also keep your throat and neck worm. So if you forgot your buff, then that is not a problem, because this will keep you toasty over here at the hands

 So this is the hand pocket just to give you an idea. The size of the hand pocket and the other side the drop pocket. You can fit your whole family's ham, sandwiches in there you could probably fit three or four ham sandwiches and then your lacroix or tall boys over here, whatever you need to fit mittens glove beanies.  The material itself is really really comfortable. I would say one of the most comfortable garments i've tested from them before and then the hood hood nice and tight scuba hood right there. So it doesn't get in the way when you're looking around very cozy. In fact, i had the hood on last night as i'm camping in our sleeping bag, so uh stretch cuffs as well, so you can, you know, bring them up a little bit if you want to or just have them nice and tight and low so there it Is the patagonia r1 air there's a whole line of r1 air products, pullovers quarter, zips, hooded non-hooded jacket and so forth men's and women's available we'll have links below where to purchase?  Presumably it aids insulation when used as a midlayer as those zig-zag ravines will trap a whole load of warm air. Whether it's the zig-zagging or not, we can confirm this is a toasty midlayer (and surprisingly soft and comforting!!)         

 Way warmer than it has any right to be given its lightweight minimalism. And particularly warmer than you'd expect given it is riven with 'gaps' in the insulation..

The price of fleece midlayers has skyrocketed across the board in recent years, and whilst we're still getting used to that, the price of the R1 Air Hoody is very reasonable in comparison with the rest of the field. One last thing - great to see that lightweight and minimalist doesn't' have to mean 'no pockets' - the R1 Air Hoody has a chest pocket and two handwarmers - the latter being essential to a cosy and versatile midlayer.

Patagonia R1 Air [ISPO 2020]

 It'S got um just parts uh reinforced cuffs, which means when you put it up, they don't stretch. So when you want to dump excess heat, you can do, and also one of my favorite features ever is the zip neck and collar. Once again, if i'm trying to dump heat, i can do so really easily also a nice little pocket where i've had my compass today when i've not been using it, it's a just, a quick, tough pocket over the top, that's stitched over the top of the fabric. It is it's not warm enough for right now, but it is very warm

 The uh, the r1 air, is a perfect complement to patagonia's famous r1 fabric, so the r1 air is a little bit different and it's great for activities where you're out all day and you're constantly generating heat, because that excess heat can just do this up here. Like my jacket's about to so come into store, try it on and see if it's the one for you, i really love it. One thing to note about this is that normally i'd be a large, but i've had to go up to extra large on this model. The large did just about fit me, but it was quite short both on the both on the arms and the waist as well so extra large
