We’ve Never Seen Anything Like This Weird Everyday Backpack

 I tried every other widely recommended packs for run commuting and nothing compares to this.

While I have a few gripes about this product, overall it is by far the best pack I've tried for run commuting and has really changed by ability to get runs in during the week. I can run with a 15 inch lightweight laptop in the water bladder pocket, a change of clothes and a lunch without any bounce. When underpacked, it compresses very well and the contents still don't bounce at all. The outside front pocket is great for a jacket or other outer layer

 It's my pared down search and rescue pack and the pack I use for those "quick" hikes.

. I can carry everything I need for a hike and it fits comfortably and snug against my back; I love the pockets in the front to hold my phone, radio or gps, keys, snacks. I can shove my jacket in the front pocket. I also carry a first aid kit, water, snacks, small 5x7 tarp, a survival/fire kit

Perfect size

This pack carried the necessaries for a 3 day trip around Mt. Baker last summer. We went light with bivy, sleeping bag and pad, 3 days food and we filtered water multiple times a day. This is a non-established route, so it was essential to be nimble through lots of off trail, bushwhacking and unsteady (read boulder fields) terrain

Fastpacking at its lightest

The size was great, but the zipper was really flimsy & not a fluid glide.  The front straps felt hot, especially on a warm day

Disappointed

Let me just say my one complaint about this pack is minor + has nothing to do with fastpacking! I cannot fit my 11" laptop into the hydration sleeve in the back of the FastPackHer, which I have been able to do in other commuter/day packs. I prefer this option as it allows me to keep my pack organized when run-muting.

  Good design!  I recently carried my vest on 4 day hikes covering about 60 miles and it was perfect in every way.

  I was looking for a vest to wear on longer day hikes in the Sierra Nevada.  This means, I needed room for a few pieces of emergency equipment, hiking sticks, rain gear, food, water, water filter, headlamp etc. but I still wanted the comfort and light weight of the a vest.  I finally decided to try the FastPackHer 20 and I'm glad I did!  First, the fit

  I wear the S/M and it is super comfortable.  (I'm 5'9, 135lbs). There are several ways to adjust the fit so take your time and get it to your liking.  It's very versatile in this way

  The added feature I love about these vests is the ability to carry collapsible hiking sticks (the kind that fold down into three sections).  It may look a little funny (who cares) but they are easily carried without poking you or hitting your hip bones etc.  Good design!  I recently carried my vest on 4 day hikes covering about 60 miles and it was perfect in every way.
