This bag is ok for new and starting hiker, as soon as I got the bag I started putting my gear in it and notice one of the zipper where the sleeping bag/quilt is placed was broken, I’m hoping that the other zipper doesn’t break being that is the only one left already and I didn’t even get to take it out yet, witch leads me to believe that the hardware on the bag is not all that great, cheap even for an osprey bag. Other than that the osprey bag is pretty lightweight and comfortable but don’t know if I would go with this one again

I LOVE the u shaped zipper on the front of main compartment. Makes loading, unloading and looking for thing much easier. Hip pockets are great idea but too small for a cell phone (which is what most people would like to do with it). Would prefer separate pocket for sleeping bag, not just tiny removable flap

I think it's a good pack for the price. And of course you get the Osprey reliability and the reputation behind them. If of course you're new to hiking...

However, that being said, it is a damn fine backpack, very comfortable loaded with 65lbs of gear, really easy to adjust so I could periodically shift weight to and from my hips to just give different muscles a break as needed. I liked the organization of the pack, easy to find what I was looking for without a lot of effort. Mostly, I was just really happy with the comfort despite the weight with which I had her loaded down. And it was very much appreciated on a wet muddy brutal West Coast Trail hike that was constantly forcing us to climb over/under trees, roots, etc, climb & descend ladders, slogging through mud, etc

Quality of the bag is great but I have some complaints. No storage on the front of bag, really wish there was a zipper compartment or something. The hole for the hydration bladder hose is small and takes a significant amount of effort to get through. Overall pretty decent bag of great quality
