  Really folks, can you make things a bit more adjustable.  I mean this pack has a rain cover, and lot of space for a 22 L bag and nice features. Just not fitting us women that are a bit fully around the middle.

 The weight in the bag helped me to make my decision on my purchase. This bag fit me like a glove. The trampoline back and straps are so comfortable. 

Great size for a day on the trail!

 Compared to my other two packs, this one's straps are extremely rough and uncomfortable, as well. I think maybe it's just not a fit for me, I'll be returning this one.

 The torso is too short, even with the straps adjusted to their highest point -- for a comfortable fit of the straps on my shoulders the hip belt sits in the middle of my waist! I agree with another reviewer that the magnetic chest strap/combination hydration magnet is not good in practice either. The magnetic enclosure is very awkward to use compared to a standard clasp. Compared to my other two packs, this one's straps are extremely rough and uncomfortable, as well. I think maybe it's just not a fit for me, I'll be returning this one

I was so happy with my Coulee 25 I got for 40% off, I decided to upgrade my larger pack and get it's bigger brother, the terraframe 50. Wasn't easy to drop almost $500 on a pack but honestly at the end of the day I'd say it's worth it. Big ups to mystery ranch.

Bought it last month took it on first hike. It fit well just wished had more internal pockets and the zippers get hung up. Little small in the main body barely holds two T-shirt and a rain jacket plus food. Just need a little more time with it

And not sure if MR reads this but if so. Come on guys. Drop a key fob in there, huh? You can use a biner in the main compartment but it seems like a pretty basic feature for a pack of this quality.

I've been hiking and backpacking for quite a while and have the packs to show for it. For me, the Coulee is the most comfortable and durable day pack I've ever owned. I've only had mine for about a year but I've beat it up since day one and have never felt the need to be gentle with the zippers or material. It's the difference between the 330D of the Coulee and the roughly 100D of something like the Osprey Talon

Pretty much a beast

 so when you zip it up right when you zip it up, there's only a small exposure. Very small exposure here where you could still get you know, debris coming into the bag, but otherwise you know it's a really well built bag. The construction is really solid, really durable. It's going to serve many, many years of use and abuse

 These are Ykk zippers, quite substantial and the zipper does have a poly seam here. You know, I don't think it's going to be fully waterproof, but it does provide some protection. so when you zip it up right when you zip it up, there's only a small exposure. Had this pack and returned it. I purchased it along with the Scree 32 (also retuned) and 2DAP (also returned). Short answer, no it won’t fit a 13 inch laptop.

I liked all of the MR bags, high quality and comfortable fit. Foe the Coulee 25, I found packing the Coulee or Scree with a laptop very difficult. Things wouldn’t fit nicely and there is no way to protect your laptop from the soft edges (the frame sheet is too narrow). So, it has to be in a case, which made packing the rest of the bag cumbersome

Anyone use this as a travel bag? Does it fit under the seat? I know there's no dedicated laptop sleeve, but how well does a 13" laptop fit in the hydration pocket? How do you like it overall?

Coulee 25

Hi, looking for a larger bag to help me with my commute. Currently use a Timbuk2 Q and while its nice, its not large enough and kind of hard to access things when its loaded.

 Other reviewers have noticed this as well. The wide shoulder straps are fine from a comfort standpoint but just don't feel right on the pack. I removed the hip belt early on and have never reattached it.

The shoulder straps and hip belt are way overbuilt for a 25L pack. Smaller Mystery Ranch packs at REI have smaller shoulder straps which would be preferable on this pack (this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Other reviewers have noticed this as well. The wide shoulder straps are fine from a comfort standpoint but just don't feel right on the pack

Nice but overbuilt for 99% of uses

 The bag sheds water pretty well we got caught in a few rain showers and the water never soaked into the bag and just beaded up and ran off. My only complaint, and the reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, is that there isn’t any internal storage options or even an option to add internal storage. I wish that it had either some zippered pockets on the inside that stored out of the way when not in use or some internal molle or some kind of attachment points on the back and sides so that you could add pouches if you wanted to. I had a med kick and another pouch with batteries and a few other items in it and it would have been nice to mount those up higher in the bag to easily find when needed

Great bag for hiking!

pros: Tri-zip is very convenient.  Pack has been tested in pretty heavy, although brief, rain and hail, keeping contents dry.  Very rugged, thrown it around without issue or thought it will rip.  Outside pockets and removable hip belt have proven convenient

I purchased this 6 months ago and wanted to trail test it before review.  After several day hikes and even a very-spartan over nighter, I'd say it's a good pack.

Good pack, would recommend
