Didn't like reverse adjustment for shoulders (you have to pull up instead of down like nearly every pack ever made). 1 waistbelt pocket tiny and useless. Waistbelt not for slim people, I have 32 waist and had this tightened all the way. The fit seemed kind of off, I wish they would come in a couple different sizes instead of a one-size-fits-all system (Osprey gets this)

But on the second time using the pack, the chest strap busted off. Since others have complained about the same issues affecting them, I decided it wasn't worth asking Teton to replace the bag, and I just returned it. It seems from other reviews that many people are very happy with this bag, so the issues I had are not experienced by everybody. -I find the cross straps also annoying, they feel in the way when you're trying to pack things and hurry quickly and I largely use them to secure the water bottle since it falls out due to the instability of this pack but its very annoying to need to clip each time when you're just trying to access the main compartment for your jacket when the stash pocket on front doesn't fit a jacket in the first place

It's also means have to keep more things in the main compartment, all jumbled together. But, if my deal-breakers aren't important to you, it may be a great bag. The straps are well-designed, and the laptop pocket is padded. I've been carrying my laptop in an older Osprey bag which has a very similar pocket without padding (probably not originally designed for a laptop) and I do really like that bag

My disappointment is compounded in that I feel I was upsold something that really doesn't perform significantly better than the Fox. I don't know if I got a Lemon (I do hope so) and again I have been impressed with the Teton customer response, but it was through an email exchange with them directly that convinced me to upgrade, and I hope it is clear I feel I was, if not cheated, at least misguided that this would be worth upgrading to. Stick to the Osprey's and Gregory's, folks, if you need to go up. If not, I would still highly recommend the Fox for a casual user

Pros: Very well ventilated shoulder straps and backing. Sleek design with nice cinch straps. Nice size main compartment and mid pocket. Zippers don't snag and seem of very good quality with pull attachments on each zipper(very nice not chintzy)

Upon receiving this backpack, the first thing I checked was that particular zipper. With nothing inside the pack, I struggled to open the sleeping bag compartment and was never able to close it properly. The teeth of the zipper were splitting open on both ends by the zip stops, and in the middle due to misaligned teeth or the zipper itself is defective. A replacement was ordered
