Love this pack/duffle. Holds all I need and works as a carry-on. Durable enough to check thru if needed. Packs easily for car camping

You'll be more comfortable and all your stuff will remain dry. The plus side is that this was a very comfortable pack to wear when dry and my shoulders never became too sore over the course of the day. It was easy to control comfort by alternately tightening and loosening the waist belt so that the hips take more or less of the load.

My dad went the opposite direction - he started out with an "ultralight" pack (Osprey Exos 38 IIRC) and eventually went with an Atmos 65. He just carried too much stuff for an ultralight pack. He didn't care much for high daily mileage, the walking part of backpacking is a necessary evil in his mind to get to the backcountry camps for fishing and generally relaxing. Trying to stuff all of his junk into a smaller pack with limited support wasn't much fun, so he got a bigger pack and he enjoys backpacking much more

I feel like that's the size when you start wanting a hip belt. Would highly recommend Tsa pre-check or clear if you don't have it yet set these off to...

The Daylite Travel backpack is new and opens in a clamshell-style, unlike all of the others listed. The Gregory Swift is my more technical “day hiking” bag, and it has a spot for a hydration bladder if I choose to use one. The Osprey Ozone would be for “one-bagging”, maybe a 3-5 day trip.

Highly recommenced! Get them before they are gone, Osprey has discontinued this model for some unknown/Stupid reason. Why you discontinue your best product is beyond me. Bring it back, and with more color/custom options! Id buy three just on principle.

I especially like the low profile water bottle pockets, low profile grab handles, and the slick laptop compartment. My only real complaint is that the shoulder straps attach to the bottom of the bag with clips that attach to nylon webbing loops (instead of the usual plastic or metal D-rings). They are a little bit "fiddly" to use and don't seem quite as sturdy as other bags I have used. Finally, I have had no trouble with the zipper on the main compartment, but it doesn't seem quite as smooth or robust as the zippers on similar bags

Used bag one trip! Loved it packed for second trip the following weekend and the outside zipper popped off! Osprey says online 10-12 weeks hoping when I come back from this weekend trip it will be less then that! Will redo this review after dealing with Customer service

Main zipper opens wide, pack like a suitcase. FWIW, Moosejaw had super quick shipping. I'd buy again, but I think the quality will last a life time.
