Osprey Atmos AG 65 vs Evergoods Civic Panel Loader 24

We spend so much of our lives going from A to B. Why not be efficient, organized, and comfortable with a well designed backpack along the way.

I have used my 27liter bag for 1 month long trip but i needed to pack very minimally. I agree but also feel like if you are under 35 liters (the limit for carry on bag) you might look like a tourist but i think that is still a commendable onebag size for overseas trips.

My dad went the opposite direction - he started out with an "ultralight" pack (Osprey Exos 38 IIRC) and eventually went with an Atmos 65. He just carried too much stuff for an ultralight pack. He didn't care much for high daily mileage, the walking part of backpacking is a necessary evil in his mind to get to the backcountry camps for fishing and generally relaxing. Trying to stuff all of his junk into a smaller pack with limited support wasn't much fun, so he got a bigger pack and he enjoys backpacking much more

I only keep my keys and a couple pocket items in that top pocket, so I didn’t make use of the extra space. I think if you’re a taller person that wants the bag to pull double-duty as a daily carry and a lightweight travel, go with the CHZ26 (or my current favorite for that role, the CPL24). If you’re considering the smaller CHZ, you will probably find the PLC20 better suited for the job. The CHZ22 is an older design and now finds itself in an awkward spot among Evergoods’ evolving lineup

Highly recommenced! Get them before they are gone, Osprey has discontinued this model for some unknown/Stupid reason. Why you discontinue your best product is beyond me. Bring it back, and with more color/custom options! Id buy three just on principle.

I have been looking for a bag for commutes that I could carry a laptop in if necessary, but that doesn’t devote a massive amount of space and material to the laptop. I’ve tried a Rucker 3.0 and Tom Bihn Synapse 19, but neither really hit the nail on the head.

The Evergoods CPL 24 also *kind of* worked for me, but it was uncomfortable when packed to the brim and I couldn't get it right. This is what it sounds like you're experiencing. Loosening the straps when a soft-sided backpack is full is reasonable, but sometimes that doesn't help enough.

Used bag one trip! Loved it packed for second trip the following weekend and the outside zipper popped off! Osprey says online 10-12 weeks hoping when I come back from this weekend trip it will be less then that! Will redo this review after dealing with Customer service

I never liked the clamshell zips on the CPL24. It had really weird angles that kept getting the zipper stuck at certain places. The GR1 zips more fluidly. I ended up selling the CPL24

On the opposite end, there’s the dedicated laptop compartment where you can easily slide your laptop in while the rest of the pack is stuffed to the brim. It’s a solid design and offers some protection, but there are no straps to keep a smaller laptop from shifting while you walk—so you might consider a laptop sleeve.
