 The blade came sharp, but as a professional sharpener, I made it sharper up to 10,000 grit utilizing a Chocera stone. The blade length is more like a #10 Opinel - which is fine for me. The locking mechanism works well - even better than wood handle Opinels which opens with a bit more resistance. The lanyard works well

 Handle grip texture is comfortable. I have the green handled one.  Negatives: The metal used for the lanyard / gut hook is pitifully poor. I tried improving the edge with a DMT diamond rod getting it just marginally better

 As is, it still won't even cut paper, making it useless. I would STRONGLY recommend using another metal instead of what was used. Carbon steels or other stainless / inox would be a marked improvement. This metal markedly degrades the quality of the knife

Gut hook is inadequate otherwise good

I like an opinel 12 carbone because they are a joy to sharpen but stainless is available. Is it a chef knife? No. Does that matter? Be Hell no. I like it because it folds away (I don’t wanna deal with a large fixed blade in a pack), it gets the job done well enough and if something bad happens to it I’ll get another

Hi there! I’m certainly no subject matter expert on knives or blades. I’m a home cook who goes backpacking/camping, and I’m looking to get a good do-everything knife that I can use for chopping, cutting, dicing, etc. for nicer outdoor meals that aren’t dehydrated/freeze-dried. 

In terms of cost, I’d ideally like the best bang for my buck. Sometimes outdoor conditions/circumstances can be hard on equipment, and I don’t want to have to coddle a knife or feel like my life is over if I have to use a non-ideal surface for cutting. On the other hand, I’d certainly want something dependable and good quality since my only backup would be my 3-inch pocket knife.

Looking for an all-around chef’s knife for outdoor cooking

Definitely NOT an Every Day Carry. Weight 5.3 oz, length 6", no clip. I am putting it with my camping gear

Typical Opinel excellent quality.

 Now this guy up here also has that Sandvik steel, which is a great steel. You know, particularly at the price point, much better than like eight CR thirteen MOV and, I would even say better than most SH you're gon na find out there. So it's definitely a step up. You'Re, looking at three point: nine five inches overall full flat grind: we've got a ninety degree spine on here, the nail Nick to open it and there's a really well-designed, really nice slicer

 You know just the normal one and save yourself like 30 bucks, so not impressed. I will have links in description below over to Amazon for these. If you are really interested in these and want to give it a shot, you do see some sort of value with that gut hook. I do not at all, or you are interested in other open else, I'll throw in some of my favorite open, LSAT, really inexpensive prices in the links below over Amazon

 So that's pretty heavy for a knife, particularly in comparison like a folding knife compared to these guys over here and you're, looking at over 6 inch handle made out of a polymer material that is very grippy very ergonomic really like the air goes on it, but it Is ginormous just to run in some perspective here here? Is the more cans Bowl love this fixed blade? This guy weighs four point: nine ounces. This guy weighs like five five point, one so same weight for the entire package, I'm talking with the sheath, the more cans Bowl and the more is gon na have a longer blade and a more natural sized, more well balanced handle just to give us some perspective. This is a k-bar Becker BK to the handle on this open. L is longer than a Becker BK, which is just crazy the size

What Happened!? Opinel Explorer No.12

It's a big knife and a little unwieldly. I tried batoning it for some kindling. It'll do in a pinch but I think for processing wood I&#39;d rather use an axe or a fixed blade knife.

Good lightweight camp duty knife

 I love it for a wooden handle. You know knife you look at it and you think because of the wooden hand, you're gon na, say man that just doesn't look like it's very strong. Well guess what this thing's pretty strong! This is a tough knife. They give you enough meat inside this wood to have a very, very strong hold on this thing

 Looking. It'S got that beautiful old-school. Look to it with the you know, with the solid wooden handle. I think this thing is just fantastic

 I have no problem with that, but a knife. This way you can see. It'S pretty big, and this sticks out the end here and my hand is all palm no fingers and you can see it's a pretty big handle and it's rubberized, and it makes for a very good grip. And i like the way that they put the pattern on there kind of a woody pattern on

 They also make a lot of other stuff that i didn't know about. I have a folding saw from them, which works great and is in my bushcraft tool, pouch and of course, i own a number. Eight and it's always on my belt, so let's have a look and see why nobody that i saw who reviewed this really wasn't that impressed with it, and i need to know why. So, let's have a look see and let's see if we can figure it out

 We know the ferro rod works and maybe a 10 peg or a notch or two. So let's do that sorry, coffee, break! It'S been about an hour and that's still hot yay for stanley, so i cleaned it off, it's a little thin, but well, oh yeah. So what do you think yeah? This is pretty soft wood, let's cut through it.  I’ve bought two of these knives from the seller. The first one is fine the second one was impossible open. I bought a second one for $180 I returned it because it was defective. Later I looked online and found that Blade HQ is selling the upgraded see 0620 cf version for $190 and this seller is selling the 0620 BRK at $180

The knife Materials are great. Hair splitting sharp out of the box but the price is completely ridiculous. I’ve bought two of these knives from the seller. The first one is fine the second one was impossible open

 Definitely with the emerson wave opening with the tanto blade. Definitely a tactical it's a little serial number 98, that cool like the dlc on this looks smooth with the black g10 and the don't wash frame lock. I just like that contrasting colors and i may just have a custom scale made or just rock the the g10. It'S not really grippy, but it's plenty got plenty of grip, so it's not gon na destroy your pants, but luckily that frame lock side is the one you're gon na be clipped to anyway, and that's nice and smooth beautiful stone washing as usual from ZT on the Titanium so i decided to mix it up a little bit instead of just having two of these with the same steel in the same carbon fiber scale, i decided to mix it up with the g10 and the L max L max has been a great steal for Me I've had zero issues on my a toe once I've had quite a few of these and here's a comparison between the 801 and the 620 see the 620 is longer than the handle, but about the same blade length so and it's gon na be about 3 Or 4 ounces heavier because these are pretty stout low folders we're not little they're solid, so pretty much all the knifes in my collection right now, but one or ZTS her chest and one Spyderco right now

 Pretty sure this is over six ounces. 6.4. Almost a full ounce, carbon-fiber one might be a Titch lighter, but really carbon fiber g10 is not that big of a difference in my opinion, so so it's a beefy heavy duty knife hard use, definitely tactical blade

 Cuz that shows up - and that is gon na - be an amazing amazing video. I promise at least an amazing knife. I know how awesome video is gon na be, but the knife will be amazing, alright, guys, that's the first look at the ZT 620 and the 6 562 carbon fiber best production knives this year. Absolutely, I can't think of anything better

 But you know the obvious upgrades with the ZT of titanium frame: lock, smoothness, the L max steel, the overall build quality made in the USA, all that all the above, so definitely what I'm gon na be carrying and using more so now the CQC's haven't definitely held Me held me over though, until this came out so nice and beefy really thick titanium scale compared to the Hinderer and it's definitely thicker on the titanium scale side. So it's it's gon na be a little bit. Beefier knife weight, wise and pretty sure it's heavier also, but we'll just check real quick, 562 weighs in at 5.5

 So let's go ahead and get the weight on this guy, because that is definitely a factor. Well, six point: three: five ounces! Now that's my kind of night! I like that that weighs almost exactly as much as my full-time SMA teens, but I like that heft I like that solidity now, for most of you, though, that's gon na be kind of a deal-breaker. You know I talk about this in every video. Most people like to keep it under four ounces

 I don't know why L max is like what's the best way. I think LX is a stainless steel. You saw it a lot in ZT saw a lot Microtech and we see it in some some foreign. I think some Italian manufacturers use it or used it more, so higher toughness and higher education, I think than s35vn I'm using s35vn, because I think the composition of s35vn is comparable
