 Not a lot of rust, I took some steel wool to it and that removed the rust, but it rusted too easily for me to feel comfortable neglecting the knife. I live in a dry place and but it had been raining before I noticed the rust, so maybe the moisture in the air played a role. I had also left the knife in my glove box for 3 days before it started rusting. I can not recommend this knife in D2 if you plan to leave the knife somewhere for a while

 But now for the bad things- first, the price that they are asking for is WAY TO HIGH- I could find this exact knife on other websites at a price way lower (40% lower than what I paid). The 2nd problem relates to the knife, a few weeks after I bought it I saw rust forming on the blade. Knives are pretty cool, where do I start.

The handle on the Rat II features the same robust design of it’s bigger brother. You have plastic scales over full stainless liners with pillar (or “flow through”) construction. It is simple and effective. I also like the choice of handle colors and the black hardware

For a low end knife the Rat II is surprisingly smooth. The Aus 8 blade glides on sintered bronze washers. A gentle nudge of the ambidextrous thumb studs sends the blade cascading out with a satisfying “thwack”. The blade on my knife came perfectly centered, which adds another level of enjoyment to the knife

Typically, these are gold standard blades like the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and Benchmade Griptilian which are great knives, but clock in at $110+ and $70+ respectively. But then there is another category, the recommended high value knives section, where I try to limit the knives to $50 or less. It is quite rare to find a knife that can fall into all 3 categories.  I've had other thumb stud opening knives that opened fully much more robustly. That said, I may have to tune it a bit and exercise it until it wears in. Overall, though, a nicely made knife.

Very nice EDC knife

 This is very disappointing as this is my first knife with a D2 blade, so I do not have a sharpener for it yet. I reached out to the seller, and they said they all come like this and "just buy some kind of knife sharpener since soon or late you will have to sharpen it." That is the email response I received. Obviously I am buying a sharpener, but I would expect a knife to come presharpened especially from a reputable company

 It doesn't cut paper, i actually tried to cut myself and it was like a bakery knife. I only gave 2 stars due to me liking the form factor of the knife, but it's a paper weight until I learn to sharpen D2.

 I'D first like to start us off with the g10 version this time and what you've got is a nicely constructed g10 over nested stainless steel. Liners kind of handle here and it's been beautifully, put together flow through design just two little pillars, you get a lanyard hole. Everything has been nicely rounded and finished, and just a superb job with this handle here. Let'S contrast that with the stainless steel version, which is also very nicely done same, handle shape, but you've got full stainless steel here are two large handle slabs still pivot construction nicely finished

 So I liked a lot same for the stainless steel version. You know same kind of washers there and for under 25 bucks, I'm just happy that they're, not Teflon and they're very smooth, actually so so great lock up is very good on the frame lock version here. We'Ve got a full engagement, so it's not particularly early, but I have been using this knife a lot and it's sort of broken in a little bit. But I'll tell you, there's no blade play at all

 Then here is my Spyderco dragonfly, which is gon na, be a little bit smaller than the drifter. But you know we're right in the money here for a nice little urban, EDC kind of knife. So with that said, let's take a look at the blade I'd like to start us off with the satin finished blade on the stainless steel handled version and yes, you'll get a very nice satin finish blade here. You'Ve got a drop-point design with a nice little swedge along the top

 8 CR fourteen MOV is about as good as it's gon na get. Let'S take a closer look at the handle. CRKT Drifter Review

 Ah, that's pretty damn good. So that's one! Two three layers of denim: there crap my pocket material but then they're also going through the folds on two spots: yeah, I'm pretty depressed and I haven't ridges and such a small knife surface. Okay, I'm giving benefited out because of its size. It did really no chopping shirkers our cutting surface it's hard with this one, but when it comes to sharpness holy [, __ ] again you just you, don't have that long! Cuz! You don't have room on no dude, it's a lot harder when it's out yeah

 Two five gauge aluminum we're changing up the tip test, guys cuz, we keep breaking knives. So this is our new thing. We'Re gon na see how this goes and good a third, the third one made it through. Oh, the first two did now now they actually did, but just not quite deeper anything

CRKT Drifter | Knife Review Review/Torture Test

 Yeah you've got decent amount of jumping for a knife like this you're not going to do too much work with it. But you know you bought an EDC knife. It'S quite small. You can't expect to a cut down trees, so you can see it's a liner, lock

 The pocket clip right here, I'm guessing this is just painted black and it'll rub off eventually, but I've got a pretty okay edge on it. You can see a little bit of the reflection, and I really like this - this plate shape. You can see just a little bit of a recurve right there, this wedge up here, it's all in all, it's a nice-looking blade, decent edge. Let'S take some of the old paper we have here see if you cut goes right through you can get it camera yeah so that cuts right through push right down through so wasn't the sharpest out of the factory, but I I made it a decently sharp

CRKT Drifter 6450K Review

 I'm debating returning it and getting something else and with different styles. More of a traditional folding knife, different locking mechanism and different way to open. With no knob on it, and smooth more natural feeling actions. I'm not a knife guy so if you're an average Joe looking for a decent folding knife maybe this will help you make a decision and maybe go with something more traditional

  But this is my first real folding knife. And I realized after playing with this for a bit that I just don't like some of these features. I really hate the big thumb knobs. It's so odd having this knob on the nice smooth blade

Hurts my thumbs

 Everyone is different but I’ve suggested these to MANY people I work with and of the 7-8 people that bought them, and those I’ve given them to as a gift, always wear them and say they fit them just fine. 

 Proper fit and foam tips do better than any ANC ever could. So my suggestions for Neckband style buds are not based on ANC because these I’m suggestion work better than ANC with foam tips.
