I couldn't convince myself to spend $70 on the olight S2R Baton but I wanted a nice purple light so I ordered this convoy S2 plus. The first time I ordered from gearbest but after a month or so it never shipped so I had to cancel and ordered it from AliExpress. First impressions are pretty positive. It feels well made I like the metal push button on the tail 

My Convoy S2+ finally arrived...I love it.

 With quick reacting, I yelled at the would be intruder and as he turned around I activated the turbo setting and immediately aimed it toward his face, to which he responded by immediately hiding his face with his hoodie. For fear that he may have had a weapon on him, I continued to shine the turbo onto him so as he would not have visual confirmation on me. As he left my front door he attempted to break into another building across the street to which, acting out of pure adrenaline I chased him across the street and this time activated the strobe light causing him to abandon his attempt and fled, still covering his face with his hood as he could not function with the strobe on him. Several other events occurred after this, but they would be irrelevant to this review

  Tonight, as I was returning home from on my nightly walks, I came across an individual who under some sort of influence, attempting to break into my apartment building's front door. I did not carry any of my usual EDCs with me as I only left for a few minutes to get some fresh air, but I always carry my Olight SR2 no matter the time of day or occasion. I absolutely love the size! This small light is very durable and the magnet is strong. Unfortunately the one I purchased the battery didn't last long. Only other negative I have is I wish they would incorporate a power button on the bottom. (I used it for a night fire drill and the small power on the side was annoying)

 If it were up to me, I'd go with the H04 RC, the M200, and the L17. That might be pushing the top end of your budget but they're all very good lights with excellent build quality.

My partner and I love safari type wildlife holidays with nightwalks, as well as hiking and camping here in Scotland. My thinking is it'll simplify the battery situation when travelling.

They don't have to be pocketable but small is better for travelling. I'm curious if you think this is a good approach, or will there be too many sacrifices to be worth it?

Budget would be about £200 ($250) with some wiggle room. Any comments and recommendations would be much appreciated.

Flooder, thrower and headlight with same cell type.

I love my Manker MC13, but I find it a bit weak. Of course, it is very powerful for that size, but I wouldn't mind the light being just a bit bigger but more powerful. I love the beam shape with the small hotspot and the seemless spill though, I prefer that over the hard cutoff that reflectors do. On the other hand, I don't quite like the decision to go with a 21700 cell for that light

 Just being so small and compact, and just a quick double tap, gets you that turbo that 950 lumens going for about 35 minutes on that 18350 battery, but yeah. I didn't find that too much for trouble, because i do have extra 18650s that you can kind of just keep using the whole time. So really easy compact light turbo is great high's great i mean it would definitely be in my pack, for maybe a secondary torch. Just so, if i want to see a little bit further than sort of my general purpose sort of walking around torch, this one would be definitely my go-to

 That can be any 18650 as well, obviously doesn't have to be make up. Just make sure. That'S a protected cell. The advantage of running an 18650 is pretty much longer run times

 This is sort of their only one they've got at the moment, one of their only ones. I'Ve got at the moment and yeah it works really. Well, i mean you can kind of see just on my hand there, how sort of spotty that beam is um and then obviously you can sort of cycle up and the beam doesn't change too much uh, depending on what light output you're on it really stays nice And tight that candela is really concentrated in there, so you do get that distance you're after for such a little tiny pocket thrower. So it's got a max output of 950 lumens with a 760 meter throw so it's running off an ozrum led and these chips

 That'S a protected cell. The advantage of running an 18650 is pretty much longer run times. The output levels are not going to change at all, so yeah you're just going to get longer run times. You do get a pocket clip here which can obviously be taken off with a little screw there
