Okuma Ceymar C-30   Review

Easy!  I’d put the Okuma Ceymar up against just about anything under $100.  Fantastic piece of gear.  The C-30 being the one I’d be looking at for most mid weight applications.

Looking for a good spinning reel under $60 dollars

 I don't really rely on drag that much. I set my book and when I have the fish set, I'll open, the anti reverse and then I'll back grill and give that fish some line. So I love that location. So that's I'm happy about that

 Now I was just talking about this is ac30. You go up to the sea 35, which I thought about doing so it can hold. It'S really weird everything's in alright, so so for full from wan na can hold four pound 300 yards six pounds. 185

Okuma Ceymar Review

I highly recommend okuma ceymar reels. Really great quality for their price point. I would personally go with a size 30 reel and pair it with a Berkley lightning 6'6" medium light action pole. It's well under $100 and will catch just about everything in fresh water without feeling cheap like a Shakespeare or an ugly stik

Even if the car turns up, I doubt there will be anything in it anymore. Pretty beat up about it, but I guess it's an opportunity to try out some new gear. 

I've always tended to buy rods from the Ugly Stik line and typically Abu Garcia reels. Probably looking for a baitcaster but might consider a good spinning reel. Mainly just looking for rod/reel recommendations; I know what baits/lures I prefer, but if it helps select rod/reel then I almost exclusively throw soft plastics year round. Only the occasional jig, spinner, or crankbait. I know there are a lot of good brands out there, and I'd love to branch out on my new stuff. I know I see Lews on this sub and other fishing subs a lot. 

Given obvious current financial circumstances, I'd like to try and keep a $100 budget for the rod/reel because I also need a tackle box, line, hooks, weights, lures, a knife, etc. Thanks everyone in advance for recommendations.

Yes, we bought it used, so it's cheaper to begin with, and then also when I did my first review a little over a year ago, it's probably around 65. 4 to 1 gear ratio that's going to help me keep up and keep that rod bent and keep zero slack in the line. So another great feature. You can go right through all your different models but my favorite is the 3000 by far. I spool this up with braid fluorocarbon straight through it handles it perfectly and then for all the guys salt water fishing back home or fresh water it has the Uh X protect all over it so corrosion, um wear and tear

You could probably find a Stradic FL for that price. I have a Vanford as well as a Stradic CI4+, they're nice but the best thing about them is the weight. They pair beat with light rods. The Tatula LT is supposed to be very good as well

 I find I can add .0006-.0008" washers and other sizes in places to decrease the play/gaps. Does it make a difference? Yes

The 1000, this is a great smooth reel and the smallest of the line. It's better than previous Stradic's I have and it should be right? Do note the 1000 do not have Carbontex drag washer but it's not advertised. Add only one 1mm thick washer and you practically have a Stella with the bearing upgrades.  To make this a worthy reel it's best to add in the bearings Shimao was too cheap to put in as they used plastic bushings

  Change to bearings; parts:  Part: 16122 -1 BB Part: 17698 -1 BB Part: 19976 - 1 BB and +1 washer to space properly as bearing is shorter in height Part: 19992 - 1 BB Part: 19884 - 1BB and +2 copper washers to space properly as bearing is shorter in height. There is one other bearing that is in the top shaft and as of now I have not changed it but will down the road.  I also added in a GOMEXUS Power Knob for Shimano Stradic CI4+ Ultegra Twin Power 1000-4000 Daiwa Certate LT Ballistic LT Spinning Reel Handle Knob Direct 22mm and this makes an ultimate responsive reel as the plastic ones over time become sticky and gooey. The Gomexus makes the handle more solid feeling and has two bearings included so it spins and is free of drag

 I did purchased two of these reels. go ahead and grab the other one really quick and what I noticed was one of them. The drag was sticky so that is one con that I did find is that I may have just gotten a bad reel. not sure, but the drag was sticky

 Simple fix to that was I just took the cap off of the spool. You just take that cap off and there's going to be a spring on the inside that you will pop off. Go ahead and show that really quick might as well. So take that cap off the spool and then when you look at the inside of the spool, there's going to be a little spring in there

 So again, my overall opinion or rating I Guess you can say of this reel would be very good if not excellent again. I did have two, one of them had that sticky drag and that was really the only issue I've had with these reels and again the price range that $200 mark. But again if you are an insider you do get 20% off on our shop page. We do sell these reels so definitely take advantage of that so that will wrap up this review

 They say not. You don't have to grease carbon drag washers which these reels have. However, it is gonna help. It does help when you have some grease on there
