Okuma Ceymar C-30   Review

Easy!  I’d put the Okuma Ceymar up against just about anything under $100.  Fantastic piece of gear.  The C-30 being the one I’d be looking at for most mid weight applications.

Looking for a good spinning reel under $60 dollars

 I don't really rely on drag that much. I set my book and when I have the fish set, I'll open, the anti reverse and then I'll back grill and give that fish some line. So I love that location. So that's I'm happy about that

Okuma Ceymar Review

I highly recommend okuma ceymar reels. Really great quality for their price point. I would personally go with a size 30 reel and pair it with a Berkley lightning 6'6" medium light action pole. It's well under $100 and will catch just about everything in fresh water without feeling cheap like a Shakespeare or an ugly stik

Even if the car turns up, I doubt there will be anything in it anymore. Pretty beat up about it, but I guess it's an opportunity to try out some new gear. 

I've always tended to buy rods from the Ugly Stik line and typically Abu Garcia reels. Probably looking for a baitcaster but might consider a good spinning reel. Mainly just looking for rod/reel recommendations; I know what baits/lures I prefer, but if it helps select rod/reel then I almost exclusively throw soft plastics year round. Only the occasional jig, spinner, or crankbait. I know there are a lot of good brands out there, and I'd love to branch out on my new stuff. I know I see Lews on this sub and other fishing subs a lot. 

Given obvious current financial circumstances, I'd like to try and keep a $100 budget for the rod/reel because I also need a tackle box, line, hooks, weights, lures, a knife, etc. Thanks everyone in advance for recommendations.

 They have tension adjustments on the spool. They have brakes, even the line that you use on the bait caster, whether it's braided line or it's fluorocarbon. The weight of the braid can affect the tension on the spool when it's spinning. so I think inherently that's why a lot of guys have been apprehensive to consider baitcasters, especially the guys fishing inshore

 As we take off the side plate, take a closer look at the Magforce braking system, the magnetic braking system on this reel, and how it works in conjunction with this Sv spool design. So let's dive right in and take a closer look at how Dioa's Sv spool inside works in conjunction with their Magforce Magnetic braking system. So this dial here on the side has settings from 0 all the way to 20 and that's going to determine how much magnetic force is being applied to the spool. This little screw here on the outside

 You see, this opening here is much bigger than what is on a traditional level wine on a bait caster And the idea is that by having a bigger opening when you go to cast and line is peeling off the spool, this bigger opening is going to allow for line to travel left and right off the spool without as much friction and resistance. And that's going to equate to further casting distance because the line is not fighting itself to get out of a smaller opening on say, a traditional baitcaster. Baitcaster Recommendations?

Honestly Lew's aren't bad but I'd go with a daiwa tatula for around that price. Trust me when I say you'll thank me later.

The Daiwa is the easiest to use. The brakes do the work for spool control along with the thumb. You do not need to adjust the tension knob.

Reel

The Elite is lighter, casts just as well as the DC, and feels so solid. For casting distance the Elite, for close combat fishing lighter jigs the Tatula SV TW103, for close combat fishing in the jungle weedbeds the SV TWS.

I've recently been reading and watching many reviews on reels like the curado DC, tatula elite, curado mgl, SLX DC, 13 concept z, and a few others. Leaning towards the DC but don't want to regret it down the road if there are better options out there. Any advise helps!
