I was looking for a clock with a modern, minimalistic design and this one absolutely fits the bill. It looks sleek, polished, and fits perfectly with my contemporary décor. I like that it has six levels of brightness, which are easy to adjust. The ability to turn the LED light off and then "awaken" the clock with a loud clap or finger snap is also a nice feature

We do not use the option to turn on the display with sound, but we tried it out and it appeared to work as described.  The provided USB charger has a very bright red light facing out into the room when plugged in which makes it a problem for use in the bedroom, so we used one of our many spare USB chargers which had a subtle blue light that was much more acceptable. The batteries are used for back up only

It is a digital clock that works

I wanted a clock with digits big enough that I could see across my bedroom, even in the dark - and this little guy fits the bill almost perfectly.  The clock is a nifty little design - a wooden triangle in white, with highly visible large white digits. You set it by pushing a few buttons on the back panel, and you're done. The display cycles through several things: the time (of course), the date and the room temperature

Insomniacs' solution?

 Simple and uncluttered, easy to read from across the room, and the alarm does the job it's supposed to. There's a spot for a 9-volt battery backup, which will certainly come in handy the next time any pesky storms interrupt power.  In this world where every digital gadget is supposed to be do 87 different things, I like this simple machine. I don't need it to be a radio, I don't need a docking station, and I don't need USB ports or Bluetooth capabilities

 That way, whether setting the alarm, or even the time, you just have to move the switch all the way up for lock. There's no trying to make sure the switch is in the middle position and it's not pushed a little too far. If it were pushed a little too far (into the time set position (all the way up)), one would never know it, as there would be nothing to indicate so. It's just a bad design with the switch layout
