But when we take into account the wealth of features, including a BDry membrane that successfully kept our feet dry both on trail and under controlled testing, it seems a worthy tradeoff. The combination of impressive cushioning, protection, support, and durability kept the Sawtooth X WP high on our list of top choices, particularly for multi-day treks where comfort is of the essence.

Sturdy hiking shoe. Didn't seem to have as much flex as the Vasque Breeze and Inhaler hiking boots I've been wearing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on how and where you hike. Did seem to have ample support. However, the reason I bought these was because reviews said these were good for wide feet and narrow heels

A well supporting shoe for hiking and walking

 I like the look and haven’t had any blisters. They are sturdy. My only small complaint would be like so many hiking boots, they are a little heavy. But that truly is a minor issue

I have worn them for the last week while walking the dogs (about 2 miles) to break them in. They fit well, don’t move around and are comfortable. I ordered a 7.5 as I expect to have slightly thicker socks on at times

 Good grips on the bottom. I ordered an 8w. I have skinny feet but needed room for my orthotics. The orthotics fit fine in the shoe but are verry tight through the top above arch even though I have loosened them as much as I can without running out of laces to tie

 Outside in snowy and icy Indiana can be treacherous to maneuver and I purchased these shoes for that reason. Like others have mentioned, there is no break-in period, your feet are completely dry, the tread is great on snow and ice and they are incredibly comfortable. I know I can wear these if I ever go hiking, but I can also wear these to work. They are pricey, but you really do get what you pay for

I LOVE Danner's and have three hiking boots and two hunting boots (all American made) and got these to be for knock-around everyday, okay, the box says Danner but very quickly I could see the quality was not there. Compared to my Sierras or Grouse, it just did not feel like it would last more than half a year. Quality is Not Danner level IMHO

 We will not be wearing rubber boots because we will not. We refuse to sweat from the knee down and so we're going to be wearing Danner prone horns check them out. 

 We try not to be. We want something comfortable that lasts and is waterproof throughout the season. I don't know if there's a more popular hunting boot out there than the Danner pronghorn and we got the new ones. The brand new Danner pronghorn we're gon na be hunting out of early part of season and the reason I say, I'm not sure, there's a more popular boot out there there's a lot of guys that have wore all kinds of different boots, but the Danner pronghorn has Stood the test of time: it's got a Vibram sole super lightweight, it's gore-tex, so it's waterproof and a lot of Cheaper boots out there that are waterproof

I bought these in September on sale in anticipation of hunting season.  I tried them on at the time and wore them around the house with thinner socks and I thought they were fine. In December I headed out in the woods with thicker socks and immediately realized they were too small.  I didn't have the nerve to send them back to Cabella's and ask for a return, but had a friend who was 2 full sizes below me and they fit him perfectly

Great boots but way too small

This is an amendment of an earlier review. Do not waste your money on these boots. The material around the edge of the boot comes away from the boot and crumbles. The stitching is weak and holes form

I returned & purchased directly from Danner (thinking maybe the ones from Amazon were counterfeit), but the 2nd pair was just as bad

...the sole is what I really like as it grips and is contoured almost perfectly for walking/hiking/climbing

 So you can have your choice of insulation packages there, several of the things that we've kind of made improvements on the pronghorn. First of all, it has a vibram outsole now and specifically that vibram outsole is a mega grip. Compound mega grip is just, as its name implies, a rubber compound that stays more supple in colder temperatures and therefore you get good traction again. You can still slip on the ice, obviously, but you get better traction under circumstances where other boots will get hard and slippery

 But if you do that, i think you'll be very pleased with the life of the boot and with the comfort of the boot and finally kind of a trademark with the pronghorn series. Is this the amount of support you get out of this product, both torsionally and laterally, is outstanding in relation to its weight. There are certainly products out there that give more torsional and lateral support, but they also tend to weigh a lot more and pronghorn. Is that great combination of yes, it's lightweight, but unlike most lightweight products, it's not going to fold up on you when you're on rugged terrain or a steep slope, causing your muscles and tendons and ligaments to strain themselves

 Compound mega grip is just, as its name implies, a rubber compound that stays more supple in colder temperatures and therefore you get good traction again. You can still slip on the ice, obviously, but you get better traction under circumstances where other boots will get hard and slippery. Another upgrade to this product would be the fact that we're using primaloft insulation in it and that insulation uh is just more efficient for its bulk. So you get more warmth out of primaloft in at a given weight and that can be kind of confusing to the consumer as a customer, you think well, 400 grams should be 400 grams, but 400 grams is a weight per square meter of that insulation and 400 Grams of primaloft is warmer than 400 grams of thinsulate, so a better insulation, a better outsole
