Oboz Sawtooth II Low BDry - Women's vs Arc'teryx Aerios FL GTX - Women's

They have a clean look similar to styles I have enjoyed for the past twenty years. Even though they are wide they do not appear especially chunky in fact they look similar in width from above to other similar not wide hiking shoes, but these have more room inside.

Fit and design - one huge flaw for me, and why I will not be continuing to use these - is the lack of a 2nd eyelet at the top of the lacing. This makes it impossible to tighten down for any heel lift. As someone with slender feet, these shoes did not hold up backpacking (carried about 25#) as my heel kept moving around inside the shoe and I got a terrible blister on the inside heel. Outside in snowy and icy Indiana can be treacherous to maneuver and I purchased these shoes for that reason. Like others have mentioned, there is no break-in period, your feet are completely dry, the tread is great on snow and ice and they are incredibly comfortable. I know I can wear these if I ever go hiking, but I can also wear these to work. They are pricey, but you really do get what you pay for

I didn't find that to be the case. Granted, I tried these on right after I completed a long hike, and my feet were a bit swollen, but that should have been the perfect time to see how they fit. I normally wear a size 10 street shoe, but always size up to 11 for hiking and running shoes. I found these to bit narrow and a bit short
