 This head is supplied also with Henry and Hetty machines. This is a plastic based cleaning head in my opinion. The other machines I've tested in the pneumatic family that use this particular carpet and hard floor. They didn't perform better than the old nozzle that you used to be able to get

 He's robust, is reliable. He has a huge dust bag. He has an extra-long reach with a 10 meter cable and a two point four meter hose. He's also one of the last cleaners to be made in the United Kingdom So by buying James or any pneumatic cleaner you are supporting British Industry Okay as the plus point, of course he does perform ok, is not excellent at all tasks, but he's good to average

 Well, I'm at the bottom of my stairs now in order to see how far the pneumatic James reach up a standard flight of stairs before I Either have to carry him or put him at the top of the stairs in order to clean the remaining steps. So let's see how many stairs James will clean with the machine safely at the bottom with James at the bottom of my stairs I Can clean eight steps safely, but I will have to lift up James in order to clean the remaining stairs so he's not ideal for stair cleaning. He won't reach right to the top of a stand flight of stairs which in the UK is 13 steps. Well, while I'm at the bottom of my stairs I thought I'd take a well-deserved sit down and sum up the pneumatic James for you

Again, this is basically what we suspect when we see this sort of straight suction machine. So we're gonna try this optional stool

It's just a characteristic of this nozzle so if you had heavy pet hair you would want to criss cross like you would any other vacuum. We're gonna do that same test on the wood floor

The S5 Max is one among loads of great robots that can both vacuum and (kind of) mop, but Roborock has a better reputation than other combo-bot brands. If you’re looking into getting a robot vacuum anyway, and your mopping needs are modest, the S5 Max could be a good choice.

The Roborock S5 Max is a great choice if you're looking for a versatile robot vacuum at a mid-range price. While you're missing out on the Roborock S7 MaxV's real-time hazard identification system and self-emptying capability, this relatively affordable vacuum offers good value for money. It has a LIDAR mapping system that maps out rooms quickly compared to most optical sensor-based systems, especially in dimly-lit rooms. Its companion app is very easy to use and lets you set up virtual boundary lines that it won't cross or direct it to clean a specific room in your home. It delivers exceptional performance on bare surfaces like hardwood or tile floors and is remarkably effective when dealing with pet hair, though it struggles a little on carpet.

Unfortunately, while it does have a mopping system, it's entirely passive and doesn't provide any level of surface agitation to scrub away stains, and therefore isn't all that effective. Don't need any sort of mopping system at all? The Wyze Robot Vacuum is worth a look. It features LIDAR navigation at a slightly lower purchase price than the Roborock, though it has a smaller dirt compartment and a shorter battery life.

If you don't mind giving up the yeedi vac station's self-emptying capability in exchange for a lower purchase price, the Roborock S5 Max is a great choice. This mid-range robot vacuum does an excellent job of handling pet hair on a wide variety of surface types. It also feels very well-built and has an E11-rated filter, helping to seal in fine allergens like pet dander. Its LIDAR mapping system enables it to map out the precise location of obstacles in your home, and you can use its intuitive companion app to schedule cleaning sessions for individual rooms.

While there is a mopping attachment intended to scrub away dried-on dirt or stains on bare surfaces like hardwood, tile, or laminate, it isn't very effective. Unlike the ultrasonic system found on the pricier Roborock S7 MaxV, it's an entirely passive system that doesn't actively scrub away at the surface. Conversely, if you don't need a mopping feature and simply want something that excels when dealing with pet hair, the Wyze Robot Vacuum is worth a look, but be aware that it has a much smaller dirt compartment and a shorter battery life.

 The older mops were basically small capacity tanks with a pad that just attached to the bottom of the robot. They functioned essentially using gravity where the water slowly seeped into the mopping pad at a fixed rate. The S 5 max is the first rubber Rock to include a separate detachable electric water tank, which can hold quite a bit more water than the previous model. This is combined with a very similar mopping pad attachment, but instead of it operating purely by gravity, it now has an electronically controlled water dispenser, which can be adjusted in the app we tested this with dried on coffee, grape and vegetable juice, stains and found that it Was quite a bit better than previous Robo rocks that we've tested it got the easier coffee stains in the first pass, though, the much tougher grape and vegetable juice stains took

 But now, let's get into some specific issues, because there are a lot of differences between the s5 Max and its new generation counterparts. First things: first, the s5 max did its main job of picking up debris off of hard floors and carpets extremely well in our tests. So, while the older s 5, as well as the s 6 and some others, have had mopping attachments, the S 5 max represents a totally new mopping design

All of them have a feature called recharge and resume where, if power runs low during a big cleaning, it will stop and go back to recharge and then continue where it left off. With dust bin size, the older s5 and the s6 have a smaller 480 milliliter dustbin, where all the others have fairly large 640 milliliter bins

Naturally I would get the latest one as it seems they would shift their focus on the newest model and push development for it (updates, new features, etc). However it is a bit hard to get your hands on the S7 in Switzerland at the moment. Personally I would even prefer the S6 maxV for its camera vision + LiDAR system as it potentially gives you better navigation. Does Roborock utilise this and still develop it or has their focus shifted to LiDAR only navigation, making the extra hardware on the S6 maxV useless?

Would love to hear some advise from experienced users.

Which Roborock should I get?

 Now before Roborock replies to this saying that their vacuum can only climb 2cm... it actually can handle my threshold

 Again, this issue just started a just over a week ago. I've cleaned the sensors, I do that weekly, I clean the filters, and the brush weekly. I clean the wheels.

  So here is my issue... I think this is a great vacuum if you have absolutely zero thresholds

. ok-ish I guess. Honestly I'm not going to mop with it probably at all.  Here is my biggest and most frustrating issue with this vacuum

  Conclusion: I do in fact recommend this robot vacuum. It does help keep the house cleaner. I tend to use a broom to pull dust and pet hair from the walls and corners first to improve results. I really love the modular design so we can keep it running well into the future

 Excellent job! - Works very well on hardwood floors, though I have yet to try the mopping feature.  The Bad: - I'm not expecting this to perform like an upright or a canister vac. That said, it does a really poor job of picking up pet hair on our throw rugs. I can go over it a half dozen times and it just doesn't get it up

 It has been reliable and easy to use. - It does a great job of mapping the house and generally runs in a logical way. - One of my favorite parts is that this is a modular design and can EASILY be repaired by anybody of any skill level. For an expensive investment, this was important to me knowing that I can keep it running for years into the future

 The suction is also on high in this area. - My biggest gripe with the app is that you can't add rooms easily. You can only add them if you do a full clean and if you don't want to do a full clean you have to update the app to make no-go zones everywhere forcing it to go where you want so it adds rooms and then reset the map back to the way it was. There should be a better way to accomplish this

Not bad but there are some issues...

 The vac completed a full house cleaning in one try and generated a map. I was able to add a no go line at the stairs that along with the magnetic strip keeps the robot from falling over the steps. This vacuum is extremely quite . Even on max setting, the noise level is below that of the Neato D7 at its low setting

 I would give it 5 stars if there were a better solution for the sensors, like designing the sensor area to accept a clip on block that does what the tape does but is more permanent. The tape works well but is still wonky.
