10 years ago if you would have told me if I would be in love with a two tone Rolex Datejust I would have laughed!. Fast forward to 2021 and here we are with this beauty strapped to my wrist. I had been considering picking up a piece with some gold in it and was drawn to the classic Datejust with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. I stopped by my dealer to inquire and they happened to have this configuration with the newly released fluted motif dial and boy is it a looker!

In my mind it's always been the ideal watch - wearable daily, not too flashy, virtually indestructible, and incredibly well-made. It is the final piece rounding off my current 3 watch collection of the white dial Nomos Club Campus 38, and a two-tone Datejust with oyster bracelet that was passed down to me from my dad. It is the nicest thing I've ever purchased and I'm sitting here loving it and staring at it with 0 buyer's remorse.

The Datejust is such a versatile piece, as it’s lowkey enough not to be mixed with the Submariner gang, but it’s robust enough to play in the same league. Its timelessness is what keeps me from acquiring new watches, the design just works! You can work in the garden, wash the dishes or dress it up with a suit, it’s always right. Although I love the blue dials on Rolexes, I must say the white dial is just more versatile when it comes to day to day use.
