it sucked lol. Using a D3500 with a nikon 17-55 2.8 lens. I couldnt auto-focus on anything because it was so dark, and the lens wasnt letting me manually focus! I switched it to M instead of MA on the lens but when I was spinning the dial it wasn't focusing, I was trying to make it infinty focus

Our verdict on the M6 is pretty much the same as the M5—they've got the same tech inside, after all. Both are solid performers, but they lag behind the best in the category. The M6 is less expensive, and more compact—the lack of an EVF keeps the size and cost down. If you're invested in the Canon system, it's a strong option, as you can adapt SLR lenses with full functionality, and use the same flashes

You can pick up a Nikon D700 or Canon 6D in the used market for less than $500 and they give you better, sharper images than the two new cameras you are looking at. In fact, the newer Nikon D750 FF body costs around $700 used, and it is definitely a better buy than a new D3500. The D700 and D750 WILL also autofocus with AF and AF-D lenses since these high end Nikon cameras have an in body focus motor. If you do not mind buying a used camera, I would recommend shopping for a used FF model instead of buying a new APS-C camera

To be honest, the only reason why I bought this was because all modern digital cameras lack the manual control functionalities of the camera. Nowadays, everything is "automatically" managed by the computer within the camera which, in most cases, ruins the pictures. I am so glad that I made the switch to this camera! It does everything that my other cameras does not do! It allows me to manually adjust the focus, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and so much more! I will admit that the camera can be a bit "much" to those who are new to the DSLR universe, but I will say that after you play with the camera for a while, you will know all of the menus, options and their locations like a pro! What I love about this camera is that you have the ability to switch out the stock lens for a macro lens (those insane close up photos) or for a telephoto lens (for those far distant pictures) if you choose! For me, personally, the stock lens does more than enough, but if I have the urge to buy one of the other lenses, I can do that because the camera is made for expand-ability! Contrary to what others may say, personally, I believe that the JPEG images are super clean and crisp. While you are not supposed to use JPEGs for post-production, I believe you can get away with some minor post with these files

My biggest issue with Canon cameras was the poor battery performance. I used to lug around three spare batteries to feed be beast with Canons. With this camera I can shoot all weekend with one charge. I must also mentioned that the the great deal Amazon gave me on this camera on the Black Friday deal

Battery life is bearable but barely. I ALWAYS carry an extra because the camera battery gauge seems to go from full to empty without much warning. I don’t much care for the SD card slot; it’s right up against the battery so it’s not always easy to get in and out. I’ve set up the camera for back button and central single-shot focus, my preferred setting on all cameras

But I'm willing to order refurb direct for the VR edition of the lense. Got the standard option because I hate lenses with no IS (or VR in this case).

IS was on, but I used a tripod and electronic shutter to minimize shaking. But even with other settings I get the same results.
