Nikon D3500 vs Canon EOS M200

Moving to ISO 12800 we see noise tick up above 1.5 percent, and we also see details drop precipitiously. You can set the camera as high as ISO 25600, but I wouldn't recommend it when shooting in JPG format—images are blurry and show very little fine detail.

If you buy this camera to use in OBS etc. you MUST use an external capture card device like an Elgato CamLink. This prevents in camera encoding to ensure of less heat and potential damage. (The camera still gets warm while on for a while, but any device with a battery as such will and it’s not worrisome) Image quality is superb, especially with the addition of the Sigma lens

Unfortunately, its autofocus system is very basic, with only 11 detection points. It's not especially reliable when it comes to face or object tracking. Also, it isn't the best option if you're interested in recording video since it can't record in 4k, and its FHD video quality is mediocre overall. Despite that, it's still one of the best cameras to start photography with, and most beginners will be happy with it

It’s a $550 camera, not an $800+ camera. The black levels are very nice. Autofocus is pretty good. Takes 2 seconds at most to autofocus if you quickly put your hand up to it

Get the Canon if you want 4k video capability and a fully articulated touchscreen, but if you're new to DSLRs, the Nikon is a great alternative budget option.

Instead, relying on a slower and less confident autofocus system - indeed like the m50 i'd, say it's best to think of them - 200 as only having 1080 v...

it sucked lol. Using a D3500 with a nikon 17-55 2.8 lens. I couldnt auto-focus on anything because it was so dark, and the lens wasnt letting me manually focus! I switched it to M instead of MA on the lens but when I was spinning the dial it wasn't focusing, I was trying to make it infinty focus

Lense is nice, and the sound is pretty okay for a built in mic. I rate it 3 out of 5 starts. However it's more like a 2.5

To be honest, the only reason why I bought this was because all modern digital cameras lack the manual control functionalities of the camera. Nowadays, everything is "automatically" managed by the computer within the camera which, in most cases, ruins the pictures. I am so glad that I made the switch to this camera! It does everything that my other cameras does not do! It allows me to manually adjust the focus, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and so much more! I will admit that the camera can be a bit "much" to those who are new to the DSLR universe, but I will say that after you play with the camera for a while, you will know all of the menus, options and their locations like a pro! What I love about this camera is that you have the ability to switch out the stock lens for a macro lens (those insane close up photos) or for a telephoto lens (for those far distant pictures) if you choose! For me, personally, the stock lens does more than enough, but if I have the urge to buy one of the other lenses, I can do that because the camera is made for expand-ability! Contrary to what others may say, personally, I believe that the JPEG images are super clean and crisp. While you are not supposed to use JPEGs for post-production, I believe you can get away with some minor post with these files

I don't need all the bells and whistles, but this camera is full of them. It's a "beginner" camera that makes other beginner cameras look like disposables.
