 It comes with the standard little USB cable which is interchangeable with any other you might have, but this one has a little nearly gone and also comes with a spare ink cartridge. These are a standard cartridge type known as D1 then not manufactured or sold on you, but any you find should be compatible. although Neo does have a list of recommended ones from specific manufacturers which you can find our website. The pen needs charging when it arrives and the red light here indicates that is charging

 We essentially bought this as an alternative to a graphics tablet, which we may still get in future Anyway, their pen arrives in a sleek, minimal box, definitely taking some cues from Apple in terms of presentation. The form factor of the pen is totaling like an orb, and most of the other options out there are definitely on the chunkier side, so it's great to feel as it does. Their build quality and design is very good. It's a nice object in and of itself and doesn't look or feel particularly like something digital

Thinking about getting a dedicated pen for shimmer ink. Recommendations?

 Some 'high end' pens are priced as jewellery and are not particularly good for writing. The Pelikan is engineered for writing first and writes consistently smoothly without any scratchiness or blotchiness - I've used it with Diamine, Parker, Mont Blanc, and Waterman inks. To get that from a stainless steel nib means pretty good engineering I think. I have had none of the clogging that I seem to get with Waterman pens and none of the ink on my fingers that I get with some much more expensive instruments

Now, if we take the affordable side out of it, I'd recommend looking into Fountain pens, the best type of pen for writing out there. To make it short, avoid gift brands (parker, cross, waterman) since they usually have overpriced shit that's produced in China, although their inks are nice. If you do want a cheap fountain pen, an eyedroppered platinum preppy will do you great, or you can go for Chinese brands who have the same or better quality then gift brands without the bloated price tag, although the nibs on them can sometimes be hit or miss. There is TWSBI if you want to put a bit more money down, the ECO is about 30 quid but it's a piston filler, which is great value

Best pen for notes?

As for the quality of cables, as long as the connection is sturdy with good conductor, I doubt more fancy XLR cables will make a difference as XLR is at higher voltage (meaning does not need superconductors for signal to flow.

<p>Edit - I decided to use a USB cable that has the USB certification mark and keep it 1m or less. ( Not fake) I choose a SUPRA Cable, its more expensive but i like the build quality. (A cheap standard certified cable seemed to be around £15 anyway)</p>
