 So the pack has a day-pack included that attaches inside the pack for ease of use and it has a clip inside to attach your bladder inside the day-pack. This is all and good however I don't really plan on using the day-pack and that bladder clip is the only one in the pack. So if you remove the day-pack you lose your mounting point. I found an easy fix that being some Velcro tape stuck together fed through an exposed portion of the metal frame at the top of the inside of the pack that allows me to hold a bladder in place (A zip-tie worked as well but is much less practical)

 So far I can only give initial impressions as my only real use thus far was a 3 mile overnight trip to the upper twin lake on Mt.Hood about a 3 mile hike. It performed pretty well for that but I still yet to put it though some more punishing things like get caught in a rainstorm to truly test how well it holds up in more undesirable circumstances. The sizing is a touch big but that was to be expected as I'm very thin but with a broad build making sizing of clothes and packs a little more challenging

My first real backpacking pack and its almost perfect

Ordered mine on sale in late spring, taken it on a handful of 10+ mile out & backs and a 20 mile summit so far, overall I’d say really great bag i’d expect nothing less from mountain hardwear. Excels in comfort, ventilation, and overall layout in my opinion compared to similar options from Osprey & REI brand bags, although a bit more spendy. The fit was pretty true to size, I have a 19” torso and 32” waist and the S/M fits me great. The sliding lumbar support really sells it for me, keeps the pack considerably more balanced and stable especially on more technical terrain

 The pack has held up well enough in both the rocky high desert as well as alpine bristlecone forests over my first season with it. The detachable day pack turned out to be a lot more useful than I originally expected when I ordered this pack, Great for small day hikes or dropping your main pack at camp to summit with the daypack. Daypack is pretty comfortable with a 3L bladder although a chest strap would be nice. Biggest gripe I’ve seen about the bag is the front mesh pocket, it hasn’t been a tear concern for me personally even in pretty thick brush, and I hardly use it for anything but wrappers anyway so rain getting the contents wet is not a concern for me either

 If I'm doing a serious dayhike, this is the bag I'm taking. It's one of those that you forget you're wearing.

Gray Patagonia Black Hole Cube (6L). My main toiletry bag, which I pretty much live out of.

Black/topo print Kavu Rope Sling. I LOVE this little guy. I can fit my 1L water bottle or my mirrorless camera in here, which makes it a great roadtripping/adventure buddy.

Green Kelty Redwing (44L). This is my wilderness backpack. I switched from a 50L Osprey and like this one WAY more. It's light, very comfy to wear when loaded up, unzips super wide, and has great organization

Sharing my silly bag problem with my fellow addicts. I gathered up all of my various bags and pouches, and it made me realize how ridiculous things have gotten. Might be time to downsize my collection. Sharing a few of my favorites and will add a full list in the comments.

This backpack is so spacious! I have primarily been using it for hiking/camping and climbing. It can fit all the gear I need and then some. It's very durable and seems like it would hold up well in rainy/wet conditions.

The rest of the main compartment is a top load bottomless pit, so use those packing cubes people! The interior lining color differs from pack to pack depending on the exterior color you choose. However, Patagonia made sure to use different color exterior and interior colors, which we found really helpful when searching for gear inside the pack.

 We typically have it tightly bucked against the pack, utilizing the provided elastic keepers to keep the straps from dangling. It would be nice to have the option to remove this since we have chosen not to use it majority of the time. Also, keep a close eye on your elastic keepers, as one of ours fell off during our travels which was a bit sad. Luckily, when we reached out anonymously, Patagonia was super helpful and sent us a free replacement in a very timely manner

And last but not least, Patagonia uses Human Curve® shoulder straps and we’ve never had an issue with them the several years we’ve used the pack. They’re made to conform ergonomically to your shoulders and upper chest for added comfort with any carry, with a perfect amount of padding.

We do wish the pack had an optional sternum strap, which would be nice for heavier loads. Additionally, the hip belt doesn’t offer much support and tends to get in the way. I needed a new backpack for school, I hadn't bought one in almost 5 years so I've been waiting and waiting to find the perfect one. This is definitely it! It's perfectly fits my laptop and books without being too clunky or heavy. I was worried about the size being a little too small but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's a really great size! I'm happy I found this on sale, since Patagonia is usually so expensive.

 I just wish the laptop sleeve area was a bit bigger. I had to squeeeezeeee my 13 in. laptop in. Snug, but it fit!

Beautiful, simple pack

 We had a table full of gear and just like magic, we stuffed it all in very comfortably. You in terms of comfortability. we loaded the backpack over ten pounds of gear and walked throughout the city for three miles and at the end of the day we had no pains in our shoulder or our backs. So the main compartment is a bucket style which makes it easy to get things in and out of there
